ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Throttle bodys question...

Ok, getting ready to do an intake mani swap on my F22A1 and am having some trouble finding an intake manifold with a throttle body, so I'm going to have to piece it all together.

My question is what is what throttle body will bolt up to a H23 plenum, besides an H23 tb?

^for the plenum, any H22 or H23 will work, and same goes for the t/b's too. Both plenums are stamped "P13" (H22), and the F22a t/b will not swap over. If you end up w/ actual H22 parts, make sure they are OBD1.

So a H22 TB bolts up to the H23 plenum, just that I need to make sure that the H22 is OBD1, got it!
I had a few people telling me the H22 would not bolt up to the H23 plenum , guess I just need to stop talking to them...

Any others bolt up to the H23 plenum?

            H22A OB1 or OBD2 fits the same

            B-series fits

            D series fits

            S2000 fits

S2K fits, make sure its not the drive-by-wire TB (04 and up, I think).

You suggested to a reader to look for free information on port and polishingS so since you do porting and polishing for a living, I asked you a question. Despite the head set-up (which BTW I am doubting you can even answer) please help us learn how CFM through porting and polishing translates to HP.
I know you aren't made of time, but a general writeup on some engine theory stuff sure would make a nice addition to our technical library, and you certainly know more to back it up than I do. I for one would appreciate that. Of course, if it doesn't get answered first.

No problem. Let's just see where this goes. I wish we could have gone into engine building theory sooner, but that never really came out of any of the threads. Now that I know what he does for a living and the fact that he is also a machinist, this should be fairly easy for him to discuss.

Thanks for the info guys. Maybe I will try to hunt down a 01 S2K TB to stick on my H23 plenum.

Now here is another question, how would one deal with a TB that is OBD2?

I don't know if OBD2 matters, but I have an S2k throttle body on my car. The only problems I had from installing it are not being able to adjust idle speed because the S2K TB doesn't have the adjustment screw at the top, there's a MAP sensor hole that you have to cover, and the coolant lines have to be rerouted because there's no fast idle thermo valve. It's a bit tricky, but it'll work.

Has it effected gas mileage any (probably not, just thought I would ask)?

I might get a couple of different TBs and play with them.
