ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    shudder

so i have shuddering coming from my car during moderate to heavy acceleration, like whilst getting on the highway. when i let off of the gas the shuddering stops. it's been doing it for a couple years now, and ive replaced the following bit by bit.

things i have done to remedy the problem:
front motor mount (front mount was broken, but there was still some shuddering.)
rear motor mount (PITA to change, we changed it last weekend, AND IT DIDN'T HELP)
outer drive axels replaced, both sides. (both changed since the shuddering started)

it's not tires, they are out of balance but i know what that's like!
it's not a dragging brakes, my brakes are good. (fronts were done last fall)

my dad suggested tonight that it could be the inner drive axel on the driver's side. new they cost like 200$

thoughts, anyone? i wish my car wouldn't shudder anymore...

Does it only do it at a certain rpm? Is it a suspension shutter, or an engine sputter?

My best guess is that the egr ports are clogged and need a good cleaning. There is a diy here.

there doesn't seem to be any power loss with the shudder....

does that count out egr ports?

suspension was done a year and a half ago... so no problem there... also, it's not wheel spin...

Nope, most people don't notice much of a performance gain. I did mine and it helped my shudder. Usualy around 2k up to maybe 3500. I can't remember but it sounds familiar and cleaning the egr ports helped.

if its a shudder on accel. its def. your CV joints on your axle going bad. Could be tire balance, but you said only on accel. so if your coasting...then it should shudder too if it were tire balance, so most likely not. My whole door panel on the driverside used to shake when i got on the freeway accelerating. I fixed it by replacing the entire axle on the left side and it went away.

Do this: Jack your car up and tug on the axles. There shouldn't be any play at all up and down on them. If there is....then its time for new axles. Just shake it from the axle itself, not the tire or tierod or control arm, that'll introduce some other slop which will be hard to diagnose otherwise.
