ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!
Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956
Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

why dose it matter if u cant hit 6500 rpms u stop makeing power at 5500 rpms . why do u need to go any higher then when ur not makeing power it seems pointless to keep reving ur car just because u like higher rpms, when u r not going faster when reving that hi infact u slow down a lil

"rev out"
If you mean that when you hit 5200 your rpms drop and you feel a sudden jerk/loss of power then yes something may be wrong with the car.
If you hit 5200 rmp and your tach dosen't climb any higher, but you do not get a sudden loss of power and rpm loss then your tach is probably just stuck there and your engine is still increasing rpms.
Let me know which one it is. (If it is the first I will keep thinking)
EDIT: Sorry 5500 RPM

. . . C H I L L . . .
Bro,
I have 187,000 miles on the odo...I burn more oil and coolant than I do gas. Apparently the previous owner beat the schitt out of this cb. As a RULE, I keep the revs under or within the 2500-2750 range. I find that I burn less oil and coolant that way.
Even at that RPM, I'm able to drive at 60mph in a car with no mods unless you count STP Oil Treatment.
Relax...you can still live a life w/out going past 5500 RPM, at least until you get some answers. I am sure someone will have some ideas for you after a while. No need to clutter the board in the meantime.Last edited by i_rebel; 10-18-2008, 04:58 PM.

Could possibly be a timing issue. That is the first thing I would consider. Next it could be a dizzy problem. That's what I would look into secondly. Third, maybe some sort of electrical problem.
I would really consider the dizzy and the timing components. The Lord watches over me!
