ok i have always had problems with my wastgate and boost control i have tryed it every witch way i dont think my wastegate is messed up it is a external wastegate.

where r u supposed to run ur vacuum source for ur wastegate maybe i have the wrong source

I have run mine from more than one place.

A couple of questions.

Which wg do you have?
Which spring do you have?
What symptoms are you seeing that you think your wg is messed up? spiking, creeping, etc?

I have run my vacuum line to it from different points on the IM. Just make sure you are using a vacuum source that is past the TB and you should be fine. Also, make sure that the vacuum line running to the wg doesnt have a leak in it.

you could always do like the magazines do and run a T fitting off the EGR. i've seen it done in project car magazine a few times

Whenever possible, the wg should have its own line on the IM after the TB, and close to the same place that the map sensor is reading from.
I replied to your pm btw. Still need more info on exactly what its doing.

Also, I think that the ebay wg is your problem, and just for reference, a boost controller CANNOT lower boost levels, only raise them.

Also, if you only have a 2 bar map sensor and you are spiking past 14.7 psi, the engine will be hitting fuel cut, as the map sensor cannot read past that psi.

ya i dont no what kind of wastegate it is i got it off egay ... stupid of me ..... there is no leaks it is supost to have a adjustible spring because i have a boost control i will mess with it tomarow i got to go get other shit so ill fuck with it then thankx man



oooo u want to hear something kool i was happy as shit.. i lost my oil cap with the honda thing on it so i had to go to auto zone and get a new one so it didnt have it on it but i was out there messing with some shit and i found my old one so i was like happy as shit

get that ebay wg off of there asap.
Buy a tial wg.
I trust some cheap parts, but not cheap turbos or wg's.
The spring itself is not adjustable, it is set to engage at a certain psi.
The boost controller you have(is it electric or manual?) will only allow you to raise the boost level, never decrease it.
Also, what exact symptoms are you seeing to suspect your wg is shot?
creeping boost or spiking?
what exactly is it doing?
what map sensor do you have and what are you tuned on and for how many psi?

i plan on getting rid of my cheap wg as soon as i can get some money.
so if i unhocked my manual boost controller the wg is supposed to be turned all the way down if the wg works
well befor i never had the lil rig in the wg so it leaked so i had really bad turbo lag and the wg never opened but it never got psi past like 12 or 13 max but now i put the ring in and it is sealed up good it spools alot quicker so i can hit like 15 psi quick and i hit my fuel limits
and thats never good i have it happen to many times and if i havent completely fucked something up by now i will soon.
i have been controlling the boost just by the throtle so i can only get on it like 1/4 at most

Yes, remove the boost controller, it is doing you no good.
A wastegate has a spring in it, when that spring sees a certain psi, it opens the wg. Springs are rated in terms of what bar they are. A 1 bar spring would open at 14.7 psi, a .5 bar spring would open at 7.35 psi, etc, etc.

Do you know which bar spring you have? If you have a .5 bar spring, and it isnt opening or doing anything until 15 psi, then there is definitely something wrong with your wg.

If the wg was never opening, and you were never getting past 12 psi, then something else is wrong.
If the wg never opens, then it would just keep building boost. If boost was leaking off at the wg, and it was opening late, then it would appear as if you have a .7 bar spring or such, but the vacuum leaking off was causing it to open later.

If you changed something now, and its not really opening at all and you are hitting fuel cut, then well, it is definitely your wg.
