ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

    power lock/window install

i have a 92 accord LX. the wreckers has a 92 EX-R with power everything. i was wondering what i have to pull from the car as far as wiring and modules for the stock power locks and windows. they are giving me all 4 doors for $100, so i can't really pass that deal up.

are the cupholders in an EX-R part of the cluster surround panel or the shifter panel? that is one option that would make life way better... i've never owned a car with cupholders lol

also, how hard would it be to convert the slider HVAC controls to the push-button controls. is it hard to get to the stepper motors on the hvac box? or would i have to change the whole box. this one's not really worth it if its going to be too much of a p.i.t.a.

it would be a pain. you would need relays and fuses. and would have to run wires into ur fuse box. i would say not worth it, but the cup holders would be a piece of cake.

      where are the modules located?

i'm doing the power windows and locks for sure. i know its going to be hard, but it'll be worth it. this way i can get auto window roll up when i lock the car. theres also something i don't quite trust about manual locks, no alarm, and a trunk full of speakers lol. esp. for 100 bucks for all 4 doors and everything i need to do it.

i'm just wondering where the window and lock modules are located and least importantly how hard it will be to pull the harnesses. are there any harnesses already in my car for the power locks and windows?

I think the easiest thing to do would be to get an aftermarket power door lock kit, it has the actuators, relays, even comes with remotes. A little wiring, they'd be done in no time.

yea aftermarket actuators would probably be the easier bet i am an installer and i do it all the time.

as for the windows its harder, but may not be worth the time. unless you have each motor then you can wire them in directly but to put it in a switch then thats even harder, if its hooked up to the alarm you can just omit the switch.

i can do it if i set my mind into it...and if i have another accord with the options and then i can compare and contrast, though im a veteran installer lol.
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

i am doing the same swap as you.

your best swapping the entire HVAC box with the heater controls. its easiest and cleaner. i'm also swapping the HVAC box cuz my LX doesn't have A/C.

@kingcobra - keep me posted if you find anything about the hvac thing. i'm hoping to have another go at the wreckers on saturday. i'll keep every1 posted... take pics n stuff while i'm taking the stuff out and doing the swap.

i was looking at the car at the wreckers today and it looks as if the stepper motors on the hvac box are just screwed on in place of the rods. i didn't take that close of a look at them. i might grab all that stuff when i go out to get the wire harness for the doors (which BTW runs into the main harness it looks like so this is gonna be real fun...good thing this wreckers is really cheap.)

they gave me all 4 power doors, any wiring i need, the centre console with the cupholders, 6x9 rear speaker pods, rear seatback with armrest, and a handfull of small crap for $120

the reason i want the electric heater box is that if i put a carcomp in, theres a neat program that does your hvac stuff. i might still have to have a slider for the heat/cool blender but that'll prob never happen lol

                    $120??

                    excellent deal !!

                    is the car rollable?

a friend of mine wanted a whole lot of parts for his Pinto , he wanted to do a conversion from a T-Bird Turbo Coupe (put the Turbo engine in the Pinto). so he found one in the wreckers that was hit on the pass side. he bought the car from them complete but no title. his plan was to strip everything from the car for his conversion. he did it and then had a cut-up party. we cut the body up into 2 foot square pieces and took them to the scrap metal man.

do you thing the wreckers would go for it

yea... they were a good deal... thats the main reason i'm going through all the bullsch of puttin them in. i wouldn't have paid much more for them.

this guy oh yea. my buddy got a trans for his 87 cougar xr7 for a case of beer and his old tranny for scrap weight from this guy. the car is really burried though. it doesn't roll, someone has the wheels and 1/2 of the suspension off of it but its nothing that a tow truck can't handle.

i dont need another car floatin around though... already have 2 e30 bimmers, a 68 camaro rs, 94 s10 work truck, my cb7 sedan and a parts coupe.
