ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Replacing Blower motor advice

    Hey guys...

Well my blower motor went out at the beginning of a 30 hour drive from DC to Houston last week. SUCKED. so I got myself a new blower motor from the junk yard yesterday and I am cleaning up the blower box and fan but I saw that there are TONS of leaves and crap in the evaporator box... is there a good way to clean that crap out.. just vacuum it out or what?

This thread talks about some foam you can spray.. anyone ever use this stuff? Any suggestions?

yeah the more leaves and stuff you get outta there, the more effiencient it'll blow. B/c that stuff is essentially blocking the airflow through the evaporator. There really isn't a trick to it, When I did mine, it was sorta difficult actually getting the unit in through the tiny hole in the dash where the glovebox goes. The damn thing is so bulky.

But you just need to unbolt the dash a little bit. And it helps if you remove the ECU and TCU from underneath the pass. footwell to give you more space to maneuver it. But getting it in/out is what took the longest. Plan on this being an all day repair if you've never done it before. It took at least 6 hrs for me to figure all that out. But now, i'd say I can do it w/in an hour or two. They Haynes manual really helps.

I already have the blower out and the whole box... but the evaporator is still on there.. wish there was a better way of getting around it and getting the stuff out. I think I am going to get a long wire and try to get as much out and vacuum it up. then spray Lysol or something to help kill the germs. I might take compressed air and blow off any dust.

I used a tooth brush and my shop vac. I would be careful with anything metal poking a hole in the evap. The fins are really fragile you will notice.
