ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Brake lamp light

Wierd, all of sudden the brake lamp light on the main gauges now appears everytime i drive! When i turn the car on, its not there, but as soon as i apply pressure to the brakes it lights up

any idea whats wrong, or is it trying to send me a signal or some wiring loose?

I installed carbon fiber tail lights back in '04 and mine does the same exact thing but no need to worry since I've never had anything go wrong because of it, kind of annoying though.

To be on the safe side I would check your taillight wiring and bulbs. It would suck if you got popped for a taillight out due to a loose connection.

seems to be a preety common problem. just and update i havent gotten a chance to check the tail light wires but i do have aftermarket tail lights and the brake lamp light comes on and off when it feels like it.

I have the same fricking problem and I can't ignore it. It is so f***ing annoying. I chopped off a plug that look more than dirty since I couldn't clean it and replace it but it still persists. All my lights work just fine too. It's only when I turn the car on and press on the brake pedal that it goes on. Sometimes, very rarely it won't go on. What is it seriously?

If you are that annoyed by that....DISABLE IT.

There is a brown box on the driver's side tail light, there is a wiring harness coming OUT of it. Find the WHITE wire with a GREEN stripe on it. Now becareful not to get a green wire with the white strip on it, b/c those are not the correct wires.

Anyway, solid WHITE WIRE with GREEN STRIPE, cut it, and extend it(aka use a butt "connector" to add more wire, I used 14gauge so it is longer), and GROUND IT. I just grounded it to one of the 4 bolts that hold in the taillights.

IT WILL BY-PASS THE "BRAKE LAMP" INDICATOR check so it never comes on again.

CREDIT FOR THIS FIX goes to : cp[mike] as he mentioned it in another thread and it works perfectly.

Strange but true. A few weeks ago I threw my dogs chain leash in between my front seats. Part of it went into the cover of the hand brake. For two days I drove around with the brake like poppin on and going off, sometimes falshing rapidly when I hit a bump. I checked the brake handle to make sure it was all the way down. It was so thats why my lazy as didnt just pick the chain up when this was going on. Next day, smae thing. I pulled the chain outta there and it hasn't done it since. I haven't pulled the panel up to see what kind of park brake switch is in there, but it may be worth looking into.
