Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

    Cap and rotor Q

So i just pulled it off today, and found some wierd type of spark corrosion... It was black, but it basically just fell off when i tapped it with a screw driver. I already have my new ones on, so its not a big deal now. But im noticing that the little studs for the cap were slightly angled... almost as if they have been bent..

Does this happen over time, or is this some kind of freak motor that keeps giving me the wierdest problems?

if you got new cap and rotor, the cap should have came with new screws also depending what year accord you got the rotor might have a screw as well. if your car isn't starting make sure you got the right parts for your vehicle since 90-91 had internal coil and 92-93 had external coil you may have the right cap but the wrong rotor

maybe the bearing is shot causing the rotor to hit the 4 studs in the inner side of the cap

Well even with a brand new cap and rotor, it should work, the old one worked fine today. Its the wierdest thing ever.. I smell the fuel, i even left the plugs out for a while to get the excess gas out, and tried to crank again. Apparantly the cap was fine, it was just the direction i was looking at it. I dunno.. The bearing is fine in the Dizzy, the new cap and rotor is fine, and the old one worked last night since i drove it home.. i cant see wtf is going on with this thing, the inside of the dizzy is clean, no oil... i really hope it isnt the coil... or im going to be therally pissed.
By the way, when i put the old parts back on after (before i broke the rotor) it did the same exact thing...

if you have a multi meter you can check the resistance of the coil.

Check to make sure the rotor is solid on the camshaft.

What do you mean by solid on the camshaft? I put it on, and tapped it with a plastic mallet to make sure it was on all the way. (If thats what you mean)

I pulled off the dizzy, to make sure there was no oil inside of it, and there wasnt. What kind of tests can i do on the dizzy while its off the car? (Its an internal coil 90-91 dizzy.)

That it can't spin on the shaft. I had a worn rotor that was spinning loosely on the shaft so it wasn't hitting the cap contacts at the right time. I know you changed yours but I figured it was a possibility. Check if it moves side to side. Probably it won't but if it does, there's your problem.

Issue fixed. plugs were so fouled up they wouldnt generate a spark. swapped them with my V power's i had lying around, and fired up first time around.

                          Thanks for the help guys.

(At the same time, i repalced my dizzy gaskets, cleaned up inside it, removed corrosion from the coil and whatnot. Should last me a while now)
