Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Slotted or Drilled and Slotted

If you are going to be tracking your car and using it hard i would prefer slotted only. If your car is a daily driver and used for moderate to soft braking then you can go with slotted and driller or either. From my personal experience, drilled rotors dont last very long when ran hard(my brembo drilled rotors on my track lude crack every year). My drilled on my CB that i use for DD are starting to show cracks now after 7 years. My old track car used slotted disks and I have never had any issues. To have loved and lost is better than to have never loved at all #CB7Life

slotted works best on the street. You don't need drilled rotors for stopping on the street, they'll be too cool and won't allow the pads to warm up properly. Powerslots work well.

There has been much speculation as to whether drilling and slotting rotors makes them perform better. For the street, it really doesn't matter.
As said above, if you run them really hard, drilled will crack before anything else.
Regardless, get GOOD rotors. Don't get cheap crap. Brembo is a very good choice.
I personally have slotted and drilled Brembos. They've been seriously abused for a LONG time, and I've had no warping or cracking. I even had a pad down to the metal for a short time!

i just got stock brakes but my friend had drilled and slotted brakes. he hated them.
they warped very fast and only had them for 4 months.
yes they stopped him quite fast but they cracked and warped on him.
i was planning on getting slotted. they maintain strength and will still keep the brakes cool and improve stopping power.

Dimpled....?
Powerslot Blanks....?
I have to agree, unless you're gonna be doing som serious shit, slotted/drilled wont be necessary. I think some Brembo Slotted will do just fine.

Drilled and slotted are actually WORSE for "serious shit"... because they'll crack. At least drilled will. The serious race cars that use such brakes usually don't run them for more than a race or two, I'm sure.
It's funny... the import world LOVES Powerslot. The Grand Prix guys have nothing but bad things to say... warpage like crazy. Then again, they're stopping 3600lb cars...
I say Brembos. You can't go wrong with ANY Brembos.
And if a set of quality rotors warps quickly... it's probably not the rotor. It's most likely the driver.
