ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Exhaust Fit

So, I've been wondering...our exhaust has to go through a maze to get out of the back of the car (the stock way). Would the exhaust going straight back, and curved to where it's supposed to be....benefit? I mean, I wanna do it eitherway, cause I want my exhaust on a slant (kinda like you see on 240's and wrx's), but it's hard to do that with the way the exhaust is supposed to be installed, normally. Here's a photo 942dr's car. It's what I'm talking about.

Yea, that's what I tried before.

The dude said bending the pipe that much, was a hassle. It was just such a obsticle for the exhaust to go through. Figured it was holdin' me back just a tad bit. Probably not enough to notice, but still. It was pretty much.....from the wheel, to the muffler, shaped exactly like a backwards S.

I wanted more of a tilt up, and a little more slant, but after I seen the guy goin' through a hassle, I said screw it. (I watched him do it all). He let me watch underneath the car while he was doin' it all.

I mean, my car isn't that low. 2.25" is all I'll drop. It'll be higher once I drop some 16's on it. Looks pretty low since it's on 14" steelies right now.

You'll definitely increase the risk of scaping... My car is about that low, and I scrape sometimes. Hell, I scrape my own driveway! Assess the roads you frequently drive on before doing it, and make sure you'll clear. It's a major inconvenience when you have to avoid an area because you're too low!

Crap, so...I accidentally hit "Edit" instead of "quote". Yes, dumb move. But, in all that junk I wrote, I'm wondering if there's...

Anything I should look out for. Like, having the piping that close to the under of the car, could it hurt anything since it doesn't have a heatshield? I'm really lookin' into doing this pretty soon. Just makin' sure it won't be a disaster. I looked under the car today, and was sorta measuring and what not. I have some clearance to work with, as long as the piping is kinda close to the under-body.

I got a stock f22a4 header and downpipe, magnaflow cat, and pace setter exhaust ran in the stock location. my car is not dropped at all and the exhaust pipe is about a inch if not less away from the sway bar. My tip sticks out about 5-6 inches passed the bumper and i scrape EVERYTHING. My own driveway, in and out of parking lots, even damn speedbumps. My advice is to definitely get a pipe bent up a little after the sway bar so that it clears the sway bar, and then is higher when it comes out. I have to get this done soon.

Yea man, the guy can get it all done. I just need to know if there's anything I need to worry about, with the piping bein' so close to the underneath of the car. Being entirely too low, was cool at one time. 2.25" drop is all I'll do now. I've got some room, but here's what I'm lookin' for. I just figured, in the process...I could put some slack on the exhaust by deleting some of the curves. Then, seen that dudes exhaust ^^, and how low he is, figure I can pull it off. No problem. Photo..

it doesnt look too good with our type of rear bumpers. nissans and datsuns can pull the angled exhaust well plus you need an Apexi N1 style exhaust, not just any fart cannon.
