hello guys, so i did my oil change on the H and i started looking for the infamous knock sensor that everyone talks about but it was not there, however i did manage to get my fingers in there and there seems to be a slot for something like a knock sensor but it was not there, i called the guy that i got the engine from, and he said that when he had it in his 98 prelude that the ran fine and hit vtec with no problem and that he did not have a knock sensor, im talking about a jdm h22a, i went to autozone to look up a knock sensor for a 95 prelude vtec motor and it seems like it did not come with one because you could not even order it, then i looked up for a 97 and up lude and they had some in stock.
do any of you h22 pushas not have a knock and have no problem with vtec? also mine did not have a slot for what seems to be a coolant temp sensor on f22s and other usdm h22s ive seen, right where the upper radiator hose comes into the block, on that neck, onyone has this?
after learning what a knock sensor does, i want one, can i use a obd2 h22 sensor on my obd1 h22?
the funny thing is that i have the jdm p13 ecu, wired up the vtec, minus the knock sensor, and vtec hits with no problem, i have only used the p13 about 7 times, i dont like it because when the engine is cold it idles super rough, so use the stock ecu even though no vtec, that is until i get the p13 chipped, you know because i dont have the egr hooked up
any help would be greatly appropriated
