Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

There is an intake brace that holds the air box in place.
It is located below the FUSE BOX, its black and metal, has 2 metric screws holding it in. Its the peice the air box rests on, and is secured too.90 accord EX automatic F22A4 232,500

The "Hidden Bolt". That mother fu(3r can be a really, really big pain in the ass.
I almost gave up on my A6 manni couse i couldnt find the last bolt.
If you take the plenum off, its a little easier. Maby you could jack up the front and see if theres a way to reach it.
Its one of those things thats awkward to get to, then when you get there, its to tight to get off with a wrench. I broke it loose with a small breaker bar that only had about 5mm worth or room to move it. PITA!

When i got my mannifold, the car i got it off had all the springs/struts, and the wheels stripped off it.
It was sitting on the frame (unibody) in a puddle of mud. I thought about going under the car, but there was no way to get it up without a front end loader or alot of B.S.
I just took it back off my car last week for a minor port/gasket match, and went throug the b.s. again couse i didnt think to try under the car... lol, Sometimes i dont think that much...
But thats some good info. See? I learned something today.

Yeah they sure dont give much room back there. I just replaced my head two weeks ago. I removed the exhaust manifold and studs. Then unbolted the runerrs from the head, was able to leave entire intake system intact and sneak the head out. But those lower runner nuts are a real mf'r to get to."Brought to you by Carls Jr."

I see one threaded hole on the bottom of the intake. No brace. The previous owner SUPPOSEDLY has replaced a valve or two before, so I'm going to assume that they left it off. I wish I could find a picture to be sure. I guess I'll pull the head bolts and hope it just lifts off
My bay is already relatively bare:

Currently: 1996 Dodge Caravan (DD), 1990 Honda Accord LX
Currently pulling the head to fix borked valve(s). Converted to external ign. coil.
Previously: 1991 Dodge Dakota, 1995 Ford Contour GL, 1992 Mazda Protege DX

yeah I had to use a 10inch extension along w/ my 3 inch craftsman extension while laying on my back. Its really easy to see if you're on your back underneath the car.....from the top, forgetaboutit.
I did my Head Gasket about 3 months ago. Be sure to get all those pesky 10mm bolts holding all the hoses/electrical when you pull the head. Oh and I'm sure you know, its easier to pull it w/ the intake mani. attached. Its definitely heavy though, so have a friend help w/ the lift.

Haha...I feel good. I manned that thing out all by myself. My friend just bought a 91 EX 5 spd Coupe with a snapped timing belt, and I'm putting a junkyard head on it here in a few days.Originally posted by Losiracer2 View Postyeah I had to use a 10inch extension along w/ my 3 inch craftsman extension while laying on my back. I thought the head went off and on pretty easy with the intake left in the car. I just held the intake up slightly with a strap and slid it right into place. Doesnt matter now though cause the intake coming off soon anyways. going to install an h23 upper plenum, a bisimoto gasket, and double stack it. Check your egr passages and clean out while you have her apart."Brought to you by Carls Jr."
