ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.
2 of 2 < >

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Yeah be carefull, at 125mph they turn enough to change lanes. You get a tree in front of you, then you have two choices. Hit it straight on, or turn the the wheels and hit it sideways. End result would be that you would be responsible for causing another cb7 to go to scrap, Oh yeah, and youd probably be dead, just be carefull buddy.

This is starting to remind me of that thread on a BMW forum where some kid wanted to go faster in his M5 and was asking everyone for advice. Everyone was warning him about going fast but he didn't listen. End result was bad.

        http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VZ8s1...ticleId=124526

This kid was being "careful" too by speeding on an airport runway. He didn't see the end of the runway and launched the car 200 feet into a tree. Now if a new M5 can't stop in time when something comes into view i doubt an 18 year old Honda can.

Guy ! I am feeling very guilty now! You guys are right, but I am taking my precautions. It's nothing like I race everyday... Once in a while. And I am checking my tires, pressure, oil, brakes every time I go to a long run, which can lead to a opportunity race. Is not every day that I wake up and think who am I going to race today...
I am going slow most of the time!

I'm not sure why you want to take your car higher than 125. I have the 92ex and it does come with a speed limiter, over 100 and my car starts to take flight, no point in going that fast. There are ways of making your car more stable at high speeds but you bought the wrong car for it.

Hate to critisize on my 2nd post. Bt I'm a bit of a Mercedes fanatic. There's no CL450, for one. And any 450-series Mercedes would kill just about any F22 CB7 if it actually tried. Not saying I don't believe it, just a little unsure on the story.

More to the topic. I've had my CB7 to 95, and that was enough for me. Got a little washy over 90, didn't feel too stable, but then, it's completely stock too.

Until a tire blows out, a ball joint gives, sudden gust of wind, etc.... Our cars are not made for speed. They were designed and built to be basically "grocery getters" and not "race cars."

Cops are about the least of your worries. I would rather get slammed with a big ticket over being slammed to a sudden stop by a big tree, or anyother solid stationary object along the side of the highway.

And AGAIN "taking my precautions" would be taking it to the track, and keeping all the "racing" at the track...

I know in Texas: 50 over, double the speed limit, or anything over 100mph is a felony.

I'm not saying the car could not beat mine, but for some reason, did not accelerate enough to pass me between 95 mph and 125 mph when my car did not accelerate anymore. I might have been wrong on the identification of the car, but I wasn't much worried on get right behind him to read the correct model of the car. To risky at high speeds, I just could see something before and the number 450, I assumed it was cl but not really sure. If you tell me this model doesn't exist, I believe.
I am not joking when I told you we were side by side at 95 mph and then I pull and let him behind until I couldn't go more then 125 mph then he kept going at a weird acceleration and finaly pass me and kept going.
I don't know, but didn't look like he was faking or unwilling to pass.

Probably a CLK450. Definately plenty of power. I've got quite a few of friends in Mercedes, and I think only the ones I've had were slow haha, of course they were 1982 Diesels. So, some torque, but no real acceleration.
Odds are, he wasn't flooring it, otherwise you'd have been able to read the model pretty well til it disappeared.....no offense.

I'd recommend the autocross. Much cheaper, and a lot more informal. I used to autocross a lot in some of my other cars I've had. Lots of fun, safe & cheap. As long as you don't mind rarely getting over 45-50mph (SOLO II)
