ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

new header, should i replacece o2 sensor?

I bought a new header, down pipe and cat. It goes onto my cat-back kit i have on my cb7 already. My question is should i replace the o2 sensor? also, is it really necessary to buy the socket to take it out? lol seems like a scam to me honestly

    anyways let me know!

    thanks

if you can get the o2 sensor off without the tool by all means the tools just makes it easier sometimes cause they can be hard to get off. If your o2 sensor is working fine and your mileage is good i wouldnt replace it...its something that you can replace later on if it goes out on you.

like 90% of the time the O2 sensor is really hard to get off. It is worth getting the tool. When I did my header I did not have the tool and I ended up having to use a torch and a really long ratchet. If you doit that way without the tool, make sure you don't damage the sensor. I know people that snapped them and then had to drill them out.

if its the original one, it'd be a good idea to get a new NGK one. Whatever you do though, don't get Bosch, they're pieces of crap and will throw another CEL again.

Really? Huh, are all Bosch O2 crap? Just curious.

If you want the satisfaction of keeping records of what is good and what is not, then replace it and put it out of your mind.

Get the tool and heat it up. Depend on what style tool you get I put a hose clamp around it also.

sweet thanks for the replays guys! turns out advanced auto rents the sockets out so i don't need to buy one. get all my money back for it on return too!

yeah I'm thinking I'll just keep my old one for a bit longer. and when the man at the store was showing me the list i did see the Bosch one lol way cheaper kind of points out problems in my opinion. thanks tho!
