ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!
Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956
Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

What's up Seatown!!! I grew up in Oak Harbor (Whidbey Island) and have been living in NC since '01. But to answer your question, I've always liked the 10W-30 Castrol Syntec High Mileage oil. I've always been satisfied with it even though it's probably not the best of the best. Later.Still hustlin that Old Skool.......it never ends.

You may want to use the search function for this, there are informative threads out already about this.
Also, if you don't understand the fundamentals of what your engine needs from the point of view oil flow, which is affected by viscosity, and how the viscosity of oil changes at various temperatures, you won't really know how to assess people's advice about oil.
Again, there are some informative threads on the site that are pretty recent, the search bar should pull them up.

$6.76/bottle including shipping. Might be able to get it cheaper elsewhere, I didn't look too hard... but it's a start.

If my cb7 has used traditional oil for 230K, would switching to royal purple fuck anything up?
Also, syn.oil doesn't have to be changed every 3000K like traditional does right?90 accord EX automatic F22A4 232,500

The website looks like crap but this is the real deal. NASA has been using their stuff exclusively for 40 years! Several of my engineer friends at JSC use this in their car and NEVER change their oil. They just add the additive stuff when ever it is running low. They also have TONS of educational FACTs about how motor oil works and why their stuff is different than so call "synthetic" oils that you get from the auto parts store. I've been flamed on here before for endorsing them but as far as superior oil.. there isn't anything you can buy that is better... that's why the stuff is crazy expensive.
If you want to know more about other more conventional oils let me know... There isn't anything wrong with using mineral oils they just dont last as long.AD5OS

I don't think it would mess it up, although I have been told by my mechanic to start off with a synthetic blend and work up to a full synthetic... However I don't remember why he told me this....thats his opinion I dk if it's correct or not..Originally posted by 90Haccord View PostIf my cb7 has used traditional oil for 230K, would switching to royal purple fuck anything up?

ive heard that too...going synthetic blend to full synthetic. My experience is the synthetic cleans gunk build ups that help seal the engine. Gradually going to synthetic wont help that...just new seals. My MR2 did the same thing, sealed fine with normal dino oil and leaks now (synthetics) after about 2k miles.
