ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    air box n etc.

Ok, there's the air box right? Next to the little pipes on the inside theres this weird little box thing with lines running from it to the throttle body, has number 8 on em. I was planning on gutting the entire air box and resonator etc, but then first one of the threads on the fender stripped on me and i couldn't figure out wheither i could remove that air box thing or not... and just blah.

Kinda hard to tell what part you are talking about without a picture... does it look like anything in these pictures?

i think your talking about 15-18. i took mine out. and just pluged the vaccuum line to the engine. and cut the bottom out of my stock airbox.
I think its just a trap door that opens the other pipe on full throttle. (on lower picture). im curious what is 38 though.
        you'll love my nuts!

its number 38 on the 2nd pic. it controls a flap in number 18 that allows more air in at higher RPMs.

you can remove it. just cap the the vaccum line at the throttle body. then remove the stock intake completely. youll have to reach under the fender to get at the screws for the intake resinator (#9)

Replacing your stock intake set up with a CAI wont give your anymore proformance?? If thats what your sayin then your MAD wrong.( if thats not what your sayin then MY BAD, cus then I dont understaind what the hell your trying to say then ) Im sorry but cone filters are way more efficient then filters that go in your stock box.

One think its use all stock, another is using performance filters in stock box
and third its a use cone filters and CAI.....

What I´m trying to say is I don´t feel much difference between second
                  and third options....

Yeah, it was 38 in the 2nd picture. I just wanted to know if i could remove that without screwing up something mainly because it was connected to electronics and the throttle. I didnt notice much a difference with a SRI in sound and power so i just left stock setting in for those reasons.

K&N makes bad ass cone filters that have really good air flow. I started out just using a cone filter on the end of the stock hose and I felt a good bit of throttle response. Then when I got a 3 diameter pipe for the filter it made even more off a diff. in throttle response and in top end. Sorry if I came across as a dick, I wasn’t trying to be.
