ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Engine Codes

I did some work today to clear up some cel...coolant temperature sensor and new o2 sensor.

my question is if the codes are clear and you run the test again, should the cel stay on or go off?

mines just stays lit the whole time when checking the codes.

You should reset the ECU when you fix the problem.

Okay i did reset it the first time but went a head and reset it again and it went back to normal.

Im still throwing a code 41 though after I changed the o2 sensor. I heard there is another o2 sensor by the catalytic converter...is that true?

no, on the 90-93 accords they are obd1 and only have one sensor. If the problem was fixed there shuold be no codes on. make sure your not throwing a different code.

If you got a cheap replacement o2 sensor, and not a Honda unit, it may not be functioning correctly. Our cars are extremely picky when it comes to o2 sensors. Bosch sensors rarely work.

I just had a Bosch o2 sensor put in mine yesterday and it didn't solve the problem (http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=85794), which I was hoping it would. Could it maybe be because of the fact that it's a Bosch? I really don't want to shell out a big chunk of money for something that won't fix it.

majority of the time you'll end up spending more on stuff that isnt OEM because of the junk that Auto Zone sells.

stuff like the o2 sensors, thermostat, engine internals, or any other sensors, its best to either go aftermarket or OEM.

i had a Honda certified tech take my motor out of 1st cb and he told me not to use Bosch stuff on the car. the Bosch oil filter was ok, but he said when it comes to the o2 sensors and plugs and other things, Bosch is more made for European cars like BMW.

no. i meant aftermarket too. the stuff that auto zone sells isnt aftermarket. its just OEM parts put back together with crappy used parts. some times aftermarket can be better than OEM. but not all the time.

so either OEM or aftermarket. but i would try OEM before i try aftermarket when it comes to stuff like the o2 and other sensors.

Remanufactured? Remanufactured parts will be specified, and never sold as new. Anything that isn't made by the original manufacturer is considered aftermarket. Anything Bosch for our cars is "aftermarket".

So do places like Auto Zone and OReilly's have OEM parts I can get through them? I got a Bosch from OReilly's for $55 and the one from the Honda dealership would have been $140 (w/ my bf's discount). Would an auto store have something between those prices, but OEM?
