Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    how to tell what I.M is what?

    im about to buy a jdm intake maniafold off a guy, but he dont know what kind it is i seen it has a egr valve just like the a6 and egr port's....are a6 the only one with egr valves and ports

    tell him to look for any stickers or numbers that are in the cast. the manifolds will tell you what ECU it corresponds to so that you know what you're getting.

    like if it said PT3 you'll know it's an A1 or an A4. if it says PT6 then you'll know it's an A6 manifold. if it says p14, then you know you've gotten an H23 manifold.

    ** crap i just reread what you typed and you said he claims it's an JDM mani.
    i'm not sure if any of that applies to JDM parts.

      I didn't thin JDM intake manis had EGR ports/valves...

                Looks like an A6 or an A1 or an A4... does it have the IAB plate? It looks like it does in the second picture... just not as clear as I would like.

                Also looks like it has an air boost block off plate and missing the IACV.

                I paid 80 for my A6, but it came with everything and then some... actually too much crap...

                  the dude is giving me a great deal...if idrive to him...and will the car run fine with that being blocked off?

                        If you had to, you could block both the FITV and IACV, but it's good to have at least 1, FITV mainly. You could swap your sensors over no problem. If that is a true JDM F22a (F22a6) IM, then the runners will be stamped "PT9." If not, it would be "PT3."

                          Most likely just for aesthetics. There really isn't any reason for blocking it off.

                          Another reason would be to eliminate the possibility of it ever giving you trouble in terms of a vacuum leak, especially when you get an aggressive enough aftermarket cam.

                            Now, I did notice that the FITV and IACVs are missing, can we tell if the air boost valve is missing or am I missing something? The pics don't really show whole plenum, but the OP can just swap the misc. stuff over.

                              From what I can tell that looks like a a1, I can't see the iab plate or solenoid.
