ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Possibly a PS leak

So, I've found some fluid has been thrown onto the underside of my hood, and my PS fluid is kinda lower than normal. Added PS fluid, and it drained back down to the same level after a short drive.
So, I think it may be leaking onto one of the belts and the belt threw it onto the hood.
Anyway, what's something I can use to clean it all up without damaging anything?
And, are there any common PS leakage issues to check for?
Car is a 93 SE with a F22A1 (unfortunately) but only the engine, IM and everything else was kept from the a6.

Gunk Engine bright is pretty safe for the engine areas, for the hood I'd just use regular soap and water and try and scrub it down.

Diluted simple green also works well on the engine, but you have to be careful with it on paint, it will eat the paint.

I'd check for a loose hose first, then p/s hoses themselves, and if that is looking good then it's probably either the front shaft seal or the rear o-ring. I think you can find a kit for those parts, but it might be faster/easier to just get a good looking pump out of the junkyard. They're only $30 at my local one.

underneath the engine, you will see some hard lines running into the steering rack, they will be covered with a plastic shield. The broken line should be there; its very common with CB's, when I got mine fixed, the garage had another CB in for the same issue. ...

we cut off the old hard line and replaced it with a rubber hydraulic line. done and done.

Thanks, I'll look at that tomorrow. It's either there, or I think the pump might be leaking on the pulley side.

Pretty sure it's leaking from the pump. Does anyone sell a gasket/seal kit to rebuild the pump? Or would it be easier to just get a new/used pump?

Exactly what happened to mine, and exactly what I did.

Majestic Honda lists all of the O-rings and stuff, you might try getting them there. Like I said earlier, it might just be easier to get a good looking pump out of a junkyard rather than screw with the one you have.
