ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

stands are cheap just go buy a 2ton set from the auto parts store. or from a garage sale. or from CL.
dont pay for shipping from an ebay seller.

              trust me.
              you will need them often.

A jack and 4 jackstands. Depends on what kind of work I am doing to the car if I need all 4 or just 2.

Actually this is a great thread to ask this question.

What are some alternative places to put the stands? Once I use the regular jack positions to jack up the car, are there any other places left to use jack stands?

I usually use the frame of the car or the jack points. Depends on what I feel like really.

I usually choose other places to jack up the car, such as the front tow hooks (whcih I no longer have... ) And then I put the stands under the jack points. It's best to have the full weight of the car ON the stands, on those reinforced points. I've also taken other stands, tires, the jack, etc... and put them under other solid places, just in case the car falls. Partially crushed is better than totally crushed!

if you have a long enough jack or enough leverage all you need to use is the front crossmember and the rear lower support whatever its called. Its where a tie bar would go that area. Thats how I lift up the car if I need all 4 tires in the air. Dont really use the tow hooks just dont feel safe using them.

x2 on the tow hook not feeling safe mine are bent from using jacks i dont recommend, if u need both front tires up i wud use the crossmember as well just use a block of wood on the jack seat, as not to deform the crossmember
