ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    springs OR coilovers?

so which do u prefer people, springs, or coilovers? which do u have an have they held up ok? any problems? looking into gettin some, but not sure which way to go....

I prefer springs. I'd mess with coilovers too much and need an alignment constantly.

I've had both H&R Sport and H&R Race. Both are very good.

I woudln't recommend cheap stuff. Spend a little extra for quality. Coilover sleeves aren't a very good idea (Ground Control is the only decent one... MAYBE Skunk2, though I'm not really a fan of their suspension components...)

Whatever you do, don't drop your car on stock shocks.

      good springs are $150-$200.
decent shocks are about $200 like gr2s or something
good coilovers are $700 or so

if your spending less than that on stuff your probably getting crap

I have Omnipower street coilovers, and I like them

Ive had no problems with them yet, been running them for almost two years in all kind of weather.
Just need an alignment so I can stop wearing tyres

          but i'd go with coilovers.
springs are too bouncy for me

Only if you can afford new shocks. If you're THAT broke, don't touch your suspension. Save your milk money.

I had skunk2 coilovers on my 93 with stock struts. I kept blowing the rear struts all the time but the ride wasnt to bad. Id deffenitly reccomend good struts with coilovers. I dont think KYB GR2s would work with coilovers.
              Its just me

They do. Not great, but they do. 92accordDX was down over 3" with GR2s on... I don't know what coilovers he had... it was WAY back, so they may have been garbage ones... But the shocks lasted for years.

It's not the best option, but it's far better than tired stock ones.

Of course, if you really beat on it, you'll blow something.

do you just dd this car and want it to look good? do you autocross the car? track the car? how much money are you looking to spend?

all those questions need to be answered before i can honestly tell you which setup to get.

if you dont want to mess with the ride definitely get new shocks. blown shocks ride like crap

i forget which is is. tein s tech maybe. they are made for lowering for looks but not really performance. they call em dress up master. the spring rate is probably lower on those. the sporty springs have higher rates and harsh rides

if i were to go with springs... i would go tein or eibach. two very widely known and trusted companies

im partial to coilovers because i like to mess with things lol
