ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    lightweight flywheel engine braking

So you replace your stock 17lb flywheel with a lightweight 8.5 lb. The engine will rev up and down faster, but how is engine braking affected? I would assume it would brake quicker, but I don't know lol

    Anyone know?

    ^^click it or ticket^^

i have a fidanza aluminum flywheel in mine, it didnt really change except for the fact that with my stage 3 clutch it engages really hard and can be a little irritating. i gotta get the rpms up then engage the clutch, but it still engine breaks the same

    USDM as F$CK

id think it might make it stop faster, less momentum keeping it spinning. reason i stay away from those shiesty flywheels. 12lbs is the lightest I will go. screw having to rev to 5k rpms to take off froma light cause you running 1.5hp weed wacker flywheel weight. i mean damn briggs 5hp engines use 12lbs!! they heavy for a reason. i know this is a never ending arguement, but thats my opinion.

From a DEAD stop at a light, I rev to about 1300 and take off fine. No studder/shudder or anything and my flywheel is 8.9lbs.

I have an 11lbs flywheel and exedy clutch and I can slowly let the clutch out, never touch the gas and not stall the car. As for engine braking, it will feel the same.

Do aftermarket flywheels need to be balanced? How important is it and how is it done?

you can do it but i wouldnt bother. if i lightened an oem flywheel, i would def. balance it.

Just get a quality aftermarket wheel and it's fine.
Fidanza and ACT are some of the only brands I would trust to go below 11lbs.

you trim the material behind the face and you produce a taper so you dont lose strength.

                        round table on mill.
