Smells like fuel...

My buds cb. When He's driving highway speed with the window down a bit the smell of raw fuel enters the car. Only at highway speed and only when the window is down a crack. There is no fuel leaking or nuthin. We thought maybe a bad injector seal, but wouldn't the car have a noticable miss or sumthin? When it idles is does have a bit of a puhh puhhh sound every few seconds but doesn't miss and has tonns of power. My car doesn't make the same puhh puhhh sound, my idle is smooth. A little camish but smooth.

when you open your window a little the high speed, low pressure air will suck air out of your car, this will cause air from the engine bay to be sucked in to the cabin.

Wash your engine and see if the smell is still there.

Otherwise, you might have a small leak at your steering rack. I had this issue; when steering fluid dropped on splattered oil, it started to smell like gasoline...weird.

maybe running rich. the other day when it was cold i started my car up to warm up and came back and the check engine light was on and i smelled fuel. i mean shit was potent. when i turned the car off and got back in later it was fine, no CEL or fuel smell. my bro told me it was really cold and my car could suck much air up and it ran rich.

I have that same problem.. but mine is leaking gas i don't know from where. When i do high RPM the smell leaks into the car plus im burnin a little too rich.
