ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

[QUOTE=Carchick_44;1814413]Soon2briding....the snow we got may have been nothing for you, but for me it was a nightmare to drive in. And I live in Aylmer...which is Quebec...no studs allowed here.

I've seen alot of cars with studs in them.....they will be illegal in 2010 i think
      BTW i live in gatineau...

when the alignment is that far off, you may want to check the tie rod ends and what not. Depending on how many miles you've put on it with poor alignment, since the tires are not pointed the right way, it tends to pull on suspension parts rather hard, prematurely wearing them.

just put some random heavy stuff in the trunk.. it will help keep the car stable at least a lil bit.

Get your alignment adjusted ASAP, and just drive slowly lol. You can only drive so fast in snow unless your driving a porsche 911 turbo with Vredestein winter tires. I know the Hull area got smashed with snow pretty good, my sister is at our place in Gatineau right now, but drive carefully ease into corners slowly and lightly, dont give the gas to hard. Maybe throw some extra weight in the trunk since your rear tires are not new, maybe it will help with any rear slippage when turning.

Lots of good suggestions guys, thanks for taking the time.

Hubby is going to take my car this week and Im taking the 96 protege. Needs a new thermostat (which will be replaced next weekend) but other than that, runs ok.

We ARE going to replace the suspension parts and get the car aligned as soon as we can afford to. Hubby doesnt want to get rid of it and Im glad, cause I kinda like it.

Cavaliers are quite homosexual IMO. But for $500 and it gets thru the snow I guess u can't beat that.

                      Oh...you guys are too funny....

But I agree....a cavalier is WAY too much of a step down. Only if I had no other choice would I go in that direction.

Well, hubby tried my car yesterday after a little snowfall and decided NOT too take it to Montreal. Seems as though Im not such a crazy bitch afterall

Oh..and Ive done the handbrake thing....nice in parking lots...but not on the road in the middle of rush hour.

Well, if its only now and then, I can see why you might enjoy it....but when you have about 4 months of white-knuckle driving, just to get to work and back, it sucks. I hope you get LOTS of snow this year.
