ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    rebuilding a h22. help..

ok well ive seen plenty of threads but never thought id find a cheap h22 to rebuild so i never bothered marking them..but now i found one and i need help

can someone give me a list of things that you would put in it or what is the average stuff people change on them.. cause im going to be rebuilding it since im getting it from a JY

    any help is appreciated
You don't have to like what he did, but I would hope that you can appreciate the time, money and love that went in to the build. If you can't, you're not really an enthusiast, just another dumb kid with a car.-visualpoet

I think most people don't rebuild them. Most just replace the oil seals, timing belt, and water pump.
If you want to completely rebuild it, I think it is a good idea, BUT I hope you understand that it is a little more involved than just replacing old parts with new ones.

to rebuild the h22 motor buy new piston rings and crank main bearing and rod bearing and just keep the head stock. Don't forget oil pump and water pump, timing belt, belt tensioner, all the gasket. That is what most of the stuff you have to buy for a stock rebuild. To make the motor run better is to get the head and the bottom block resurface and honed the cylinder walls, mircopolish the crank then put everything back together. Oh you have to take the head apart before you take it to get it resurface. This is pretty much everything for a stock rebuild but i might be forgetting something but that what you to do..

I got mine for $500. All I did was main and rod bearings, a d then all the gaskets and seals I could do while I was there. I also did all the belts, as well as a new clutch. Really, if you have the time, it might be worth it for you to just wait on the rings until you can look. Mine looked to be in ok shape, as did the cylinder walls, so I didn't do them.

Just be sure to get the colors of the current bearings before you order the new ones.

Well, if you are going to turbo it, then you are money ahead to just do everything you can now. You'll end up with a pretty much new engine then, a good place to start from.

I did my stuff because of the same concern. I bought it from a private party, and for so cheap I thought something might be wrong with it, so I just did it as insurance.
