ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!
Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956
Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Most likely your distributor is not sitted right on the camshaft or most likely you distributor rotor is rotated 180 degrees off. I would take out the distributor again and rotate my crankshaft to TDC (top dead center). Take off the distributor cap and rotate the rotor to point at where the #1 ignition wire plugs in to the cap. Put back the distributor back to the head, put back the cap, then put back the wires and see if she fire's up. I would suggest getting a haynes manual if you are doing this the first time.

im pretty sure there it a rubber ring on the distributer that prevents any oil from leaking out but i could be wrong.Originally posted by drift878 View Postok now guys i got my car started like 3 weeks ago. now i am having a lil oil leak i justed did my valve cover gasket. i think its the distributor. does the distributor have a gasket that u have to put between the distrbutor and the motor?

first make sure your dist is lined up with the cam shaft, there are 2 square teeth on the dist you have you match them to the grooves on the end of the dist.
Second there is a wiring harness, make sure you have that connected and SEATEd correctly.
Third, would be the most stupid*cough* i mean newb reason....
you spark plug wires are probably hooked up in the wrong order.
Im at work or i would insert a pic of the dist i have on my photobucket
go to http://www.photobucket.com/slice5k you cant miss it its the picture of the dist with numbers on it.
also check your No.2 15 amp fuse underdash._____________________________
