ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

HID Lights Seem To Slightly Dim "Normal"?

When i warm up my car , and sit in the car i knotice that my HIDS Dim and little and then go back to full brightness , And then think to myself maybe becuase the cars just warming up and the wires/electrical in the car is as well which could be causing this .. And when i say Slightly its one of those things that only the owner can notice* But just want to make sure im not loosing power somewhere

Nd i only seem to knotice it when the cars warming up because its the onli time i can actually sit there and notice while im not driving

So short and simple is this normal and if not can anyone help me try and figure this out

    THANKS!

Are you running a wire harness with a relay straight to the battery, or are you powering the HIDs through your stock harness?

The stock harness is NOT adequate to power HIDs while they warm up. This is probably the first signs of your wiring harness giving out. Get an aftermarket harness IMMEDIATELY, or you're going to find yourself doing some very involved repairs.

I have one of theirs. It's very well made, very cheap, and they get it to you nice and quick!

Your kit came with a harness/relay to the battery? Wow. Most don't, and most people run with the stock wiring!

Check the wiring, then. It sounds like they aren't getting enough power somehow. HIDs take the most power when warming up.

Get some pics of the entire setup and post them up. We'll take a look and see if anything seems to stand out as being wrong.

Yeah its normal, as soon as you turn them on they are really bright then they dim and then slowly come back up to reg brightness.

I never noticed that with mine. I have old style HIDs though. Big balast/ignitor combo in one, and another is big balast and separate ignitor (OLD OEM BMW). Maybe the newer, compact, low-power-draw ones do that, if that's what you have.

Probably depends on your ballast, I know mine is CPU controlled if that makes a difference.

They are gas bulbs so if you go into youtube and look at videos of cars with HID. It turns on then it dims slightly then gets brighter which is the normal state. =] You're lucky I want HID's soon on my CB7 too

Im not sure exactly what your saying.....but HIDs dont go right to their normal colour/operating temperature right away.....They take a min to warm up and you notice that by the colour changes.

This is why it is NEVER a good idea to turn your HIDs on and off quickly.....The drastic changes to the bulbs can fuck shit up.
