ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Check engine light, code 9?

I just the 2 pins and turn the ignition to accessory. I get 9 quick flashes, which from what I've read is a cylinder sensor issue? I have a 92 LX accord w/ a used motor I put in about 1-2k miles ago, the motor was an automatic that came out of a 90 accord.

Everything up until this point has been fine, minus my shitty gas mileage (22mpg tops). Anyone have any ideas? Does my motor even have a cylinder sensor? Thanks guys!

Yes, it's one of three sensors inside your distributor.

yeah just swap distributors if you have a spare. could be a couple things inside there.

Sweet . I unplugged the distributor and plugged it back in and the light went away. I have a lifetime warranty one coming from Checker for like ~170. Figure as my daily it should work well.

Thanks for the heads up guys, you saved me a lot of guess work!

code 9 is the NO.1 cylinder position basically all you have to do is check the CYL sensor and the circuit

I put in a new distributor and everything seems awesome so far, no code or anything. Going to see if this fixes my gas mileage too, I'll report back .

Looks like you fuel economy is pretty good.

These cars aren't the best at mpg's.

I didn't reset the ecu, no. Maybe I'll try that.

Mine before it burnt a valve up got average 32mpg. Now I swap in another lower-mileage motor and I get 24 TOPS. I think I MAY have fragged the 02 sensor driving almost 200 miles (I was away from home) on 3 cylinders. That trip I got about 12mpg and I burned through ~6 quarts of oil lol. Imagine the 02 sensor didn't like swimming in all that...

It's recommended to reset the ECU after you have fixed the problem regarding the code given.
