ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Gutted!!!

After years of dodging and fudging the car bloody failed it's MOT once again!!! And the usual suspect, ABS!!! I've disabled it by removing all fuses etc including the one in the dash, BUT Mr MOT man says that cuz it's still on the car it has to be in working order!! There is no way on earth i'm forking out for a new ABS pump and Modulator at £900 (which is what i got quoted last year)...

So....I either scrap the olden Goldie! or I spend time and $$$ and get the ABS removed.....OR i buy another car.....i found a 2.2 4ws with full leather etc and only 59k miles on the clock....for £700.....but it's about 4 hours away from where i live....or it's a prelude as i want to keep my wheels.

Created a poll to see if you guys can help me decide....

    HELP!!!!
    11
Trash and buy something else or the other CB7
    27.27%
    3
    Keep and remove ABS
    72.73%
    8

    The poll is expired.

id keep it and remove the abs, and over here not too many people will know what mot is!

its like the echeck, or safety checks here in the states for those who dont know

unless you can afford the other cb now id keep it!

i don't really mind spending £700 odd quid on another cb7 thats in good condition.....i can easily swap the bits over off my one onto the new....and i get added leather too.....my only concern is if the bloody ABS went on it or the 4ws steering becomes an issue....

Can anyone advise on how the 4ws is in terms of reliability etc.....i have it on the Skyline too but i got a HICAS lock out bar which disables it...

Looks like a nice car. My engine was rebuilt at 180K (miles), but it wasens nessecary. Not at 228K, and Runnin great. Id love to try the 4 ws out some time. Ive heard its only good for parking, but what do i know.

4WS is pretty sweet, makes merging on the highway smooth.

ABS removal is fairly cheap if you can find the parts you need in a salvage yard over there.

                            You will need:

Front lines from a non-ABS Accord
                            90-01 Integra proportioning valve
Non-ABS Master cylinder, I would buy this part new, as used ones could possibly be no good.

BTW that coupe is sweet, its a really rare color over here, and possibly everywhere.

And yes we still measure in miles here, I got 188K on mine, runs good, original clutch still good. Take care of it and it'll take care of you

I say keep it and remove the ABS, I am afew weeks away from removing the remains of my ABS system (all the engine bay stuff). If I were you, I would keep your ABS master cylinder and reflare the larger fitting onto the DX/LX line, non-ABS m/c would be a downgrade. 40/40 proportioning valve is best.
