ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

completely noob question on my engine .

    i'm new to this , so bear with me . . . .

my senior year in high school i got my cb7 ( 1993 EX )
first semester of college i didnt have my car , but my brother blew a valve
( FCK ! ) i wasnt told this until i came back to find my engine replaced by another . on to my question though ,

    what engine comes stock with the 1993 EX ? i have a f22a6 ( i just looked )

i've seen there are different kinds of f22 engines , what makes this one different thatn the others ? besides the fact it says a6 as opposed to a1 ?

    preciate it !

      F22A1: 125 hp 137 lbs tq
      F22A4: 130 hp 142 lbs tq
      F22A6: 140 hp 142 lbs tq

The engines are pretty much the same. The F22A6 has a couple different parts that increase the hp slightly.

The difference between the F22A1 and F22A4 is just the exhaust manifold. The F22A6 has a different cam, intake manifold, ECU, and exhaust manifold

You should look in on H22A engines from Honda Preludes (Easy swap and 200hp/160tq) and have someone install it, but It's going to cost you a little more than F22.

thanks man ! i was hoping it was the same engine as before instead of a downgrade . . . . not that i'm hating on the f22a1/a4

Finding a motor in a JY will probably have a ton of miles on it.

You can get a engine from hmotorsonline...they average 35k miles on their engines and are rated well here.

              http://www.hmotorsonline.com/shop/sc...age&item=30016

but that's $1900 + shipping, and if you are not up to the task of a motor swap, the installation is gonna be like a grand also.

I don't have a h22, but I heard it's the best bang for your buck.

I'd recommend an H22A. Not sure how hard they are to swap into an Accord though. Shouldn't be to hard sence you guys have the F-series.

I've had an H22A (from hmotorsonline) since April 2003. Same motor, over 70,000 miles later, and it's running strong

The H22A will bring the CB7's performance up to the level of today's sportier family cars... Not quite as quick as the new V6 Accords, Altimas, and Camrys, but close... It makes for a very fun street car, and you retain the reliability of a stock motor.

The swap isn't really very hard. Check out the Swaps section of this site. There are some very detailed instructions for the H22A swap. It's probably one of the easiest swaps in the import tuning world. There's nothing even a beginner can't do. Your mechanical experience and aptitude will only determine how long it takes. Some members here can do it in a matter of hours.

If you don't live in Canada, I don't suggest buying from ANY Canadian-based company. If you get a broken engine (and many of them are known to send broken engines), you will find that it is extremely difficult and expensive to go after them legally. An international lawsuit would make a $2000 claim not worth the expense. So basically, you'd be losing out on $2000.

Not saying they're all crooks... but in the event of a problem, it's best to deal with US-based companies. You have a chance to get your money back, or a replacement engine.

You'll find MANY companies that sell cheaper engines that are based in Canada. I'd rather have a $2200 working engine than an $1800 paperweight.

                          order your motor from

www.hmotorsonline.com and you'll have no problems with bad motors and receiving a new one.
