ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    lol, I know.

A half-decent multimeter cost > $10 and will make your life alot easier.

Pull a plug wire, attach it to a spare plug, hold it near something metal, crank the engine... If the engine happens to start, it'll be running on 3 cylinders, so cut it quick. Regardless, if you have spark, you should see it jump from the plug to whatever metal you hold it near.

To check for fuel, pull the plug on the distributor (so you don't have spark), pull a spark plug, crank, smell for fuel.

Very ghetto methods, but they work, and they're quick and easy for lazy people.

But before you do that... CLEAN YOUR DAMN BATERY TERMINALS!!!

pull the plug wire from the distributor end or the ones connecting to the spark plugs?

electricity goes from the distributor to the wire to the plug

          distributor ----> wire ----> plug

if your testing for power why would you disconnect from disty end?

Distributor. Otherwise you might be shooting a spark from the plug wires... could cause a fire. Unlikely, but the dizzy plug is just one plug, and easier to do... and safer.

But just clean those battery cables and terminals, please. That's very VERY likely the problem.

so if i have any spark plug connected to metal while i crank the ignition, i should be getting a spark if the electricity is good right?

That would be for my ghetto fuel check. You want no spark for that.

Remove the cables from the battery. Using a stiff wire brush or steel wool, scrub the corrosion off of the terminals and cables.

It shows that the battery is working good...headunit and lights r working fine...so its not really convincing me that it could be that...my mom has a cb7 93 10th editiion im going to switch her fuel injector relay to mines to see if thats the problem....

is the fuel injector relay and main relay the same thing?
