ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.
2 of 2 < >

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

I think we were just on different pages, is all.

All-in-all, if you wanna do it, do it. I wont say you're dumb for spending the money for fabbing, welding, etc cuz thats what modding is all about. I would just think that the Accord chassis should one of the last choices for a D-Series swap. There are much lighter, much easier accepting chassis than that one.

a d16 in a cb7 wouldnt be worth it bc of one thing mainly. even at 450whp, it would maybe make 260tq? a stock d16z6, is 128hp/107tq. hell a dsm boosted F22 would have more torque and only cost like an 1/8th to do. and feel faster bc 250hp/250tq with a lower torque curve

        I don't know about greencb7inkc Logic....

        Greencb7inc
Do you mean to tell me that a D-series engine, dyno'd IN CAR, producing 450whp--in a civic, will, when dyno'd IN CAR, in a CB7, will also produce 450whp?
Why wouldn't it? Do the parts make less power because of being in a CB? That doesn't make sense.
If you dyno'd a civic and it got 450whp, then swapped the entire system in the CB it would dyno the exact same.
It would still be 450whp for both of them. Their times would vary because of other factors, but the horse power at the wheels would be the same.

Its like your saying if you take the engine and everything out of a viper, and then put it into a dodge truck, that it still wouldn't make the same power it did sitting in the viper. It would.
But if you put them in a drag one-on-one the viper would win because of weight and other things. But they would still have the same power. Yes, same amount of power to the wheels, not just the crank.

Yes, i was wrong about that. I was debating the fact the the D would be working harder. Like KC8enb said, in the civic, 1hp moves 4.xlbs, in the accord, 1hp moves 6.xlbs. Thus the engine has to move more weght, thus it will be slower. I was talking speed/time. I think the OP was talking power.

i dont understand...if a B18 makes 160-180hp how is that balls for the accord? the F22a1 makes a whopping 125 and they are about the same in torque.

hp is hp and torque is torque.

You were talking WHP though... and that's where people were arguing.

The weight has no effect on WHP. It DOES have an effect on how fast the car moves.
However, a 450whp D series will move the CB7 just as fast as a 450whp F or H series, as long as the gearing and powerband remained the same (though the D series may have a peakier powerband)

                this thread is still going?!

delete this thread before it escalates to something worse. go swap the d-series engine in the cb7 n show everyone what the results is instead of hearing everyones opinions!

Now that makes some more sense. I was about to go throw a b18 in a crx just so I could gain some hp yo!

Did you read? He said he found one that already had it... not asking how to do it himself.

I would like to see it if it's already done... and I'd like to know WHY it was done.

also the big lack of torque would effect it. F or H would probably have 1/3 more torque.

lmao know what i mean, these internet racer kids.smh, lil do they know D series bring power on earlier in the RPMS, so a boosted D on an accord would prolly be BETTER for a DD car than a B series. But lettem be, they had a stock d series so that means they suck, wonder why buds 170whp N/A d16 runs mid 12s? whys that? the power band /endthread

Too small of an engine for the car.
