ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    the perfect intake manifold

ok so i have been looking around for quite sometime and all you people are using lots of different im's like h22, h23, f22a6, h23/a6
which one of these is the best for my f22a1?

    #2
for yours...the A6 lower and H23 upper with the H23 throttle body would be best. Also if you add another gutted IAB spacer to the existing one, then that would be even better.

gutted IAB spacer? is that removing the butterflies?
if i do that then would it be best to run a p12 ecu cause there is no butterflies to control?

You would have 1 spacer with out the butterflies, and 1 with them.

as far as the ECU's go...i have no clue bro. Maybe some one else will chime in on that.

Sorry, but thats all i know. hope i helped out a little tho.

thank you you helped alot i would need the a6 ecu to opperate the butterflies but the p12 is supposed to give you a bit more hp.. this is so hard to choose the right setup

To get the most power throughout the whole RPM range you will want to use the PT6 ECU. My advice is if you have the black box, get the PT6. If you have the manifold already and you don't have the black box for it, try to find it but they are kinda hard to come by. If you can't find the black box that easy, just hook the one IAB plate up to straight vacuum and then gut the other one, then buy the P12.

Speaking of intake manifold, how come my 92 accord LX can't put a cold air intake in?

The P12 will give you more power IF you have an A1 or an A4, not if you have an A6. The A6 is rated for more power than the rest of them stock.

I'd go with the A6 lower/h23 upper combo. Longer runners will give you more torque, bigger upper plenum will help you pull down more air for higher rpm power.

Thought the A6 runners were the shortest? lol

so a6 lower and h23 top thing with this setup does it have the butterflies and the need for the a6 ecu?

                      I'm running or A6 runners(lower part) and H23 plenum/throttle body(upper part), and a p12.
If you are wondering how to work the butterflies with a p12 ecu, you can just vaccum operate them. Just connect the AIB plate with a hose to any of the holes in the plenum. They open around the 3k rpm mark, which is pretty much where you want them to open.

If you want to run on a PT6(A6 ECU), it would also be wise to get and change the camshaft of an A6 engine and put it on your A1, since the A6 camshaft is a bit more aggressive and it would run best with a PT6 ECU. Though it is a rather difficult process, so I would only recommend it if you have it installed by someone with a lot of experience because if anything goes wrong it could injure your engine.

That's probably the reason why most people recommend the P12 ecu out of a Prelude S 92-95(f22a1), because its one of the easiest bolt-on mods for an F22a1 and a4 engine.

Yeah, I'm running the H23 im/tb and a p12 on my f22a1 too. When I hit the 3800-3900 rpm mark the iab's open up and yeah, you can feel it when they do. I've also got the i/h/e combo to go with it which makes a BIG difference too.

Man, lucky you... I had nothing to do so...:

^That's the aib plate runners pump thingy and I connected it in front.

^Here is another place where you can connect it.

Here are other reference shots in case you need them.

^On top of the Aib plate air pump... thingy.

^Throttle body side of the Intake manifold.

                            ^The entire intake manifold.

And since I'm feeling very nice today, I will even throw in a video showing you the aib plate working.

Ahem... excuse my squeaky voice at the end, I have a cold so.... yeah.
