ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Hard to shift and clutch pedal does not return?

    Hey everyone,

Recently my 1990 has been having problems shifting. Or i should say i have been having problems shifting. Very hard to shift sometimes and at that same time (when this is happening) my clutch petal stays stuck towards the floor. I can remedy the problem mostly by pulling the peddle back up with my foot. This does not happen all of the time just every now and then. Any ideas on what this might be and what to check first?

    Thanks in advance.

You need to bleed your clutch. Kina next to the header and bellow it to the left your clutch slave cylinder is their. You need to have someone pump up the clutch and then hold it to the floor then open the bleeder valve (with a rubber tube over the bleeder and small container of fluid, i think the valve is a 10mm) on the slave cylinder, (this is alot like bleeding brakes). You will have to do this several times and lots of pumping. Mine did this and this was the problem, and i assume its the same for you. (im sure it is...). I had a thread about this a few months back, and this was the cure. Its hard to shift because your clutch isn't fully disingaging because you have air bubbles in your clutch line. Make sure to buy a bit of fluid (I believe brake fluid) to keep topping off the resoivor.

Let me know if you need more details and how it goes.

the valve is a 8mm bolt go to advanced auto and they have a brake/slave cylinder bleeder kit so you can bleed things by your self also pick up 2 things of brake fluid 1 for incase you have a leaky slave cylinder and one for when your bleed it, its a clear line about 4 feet long and a bottle with a magnet so you can put in on the hood and see the air come out of the line, push the clear line on to the bleeder valve, open it up with a small 8mm wrench, go inside pump, till you see fluid, get out open up the small brake fuild resivour and replace the drained fluid, if ther isnt any in it, fill it to the top, pump till you see the air coming out, remember to remove the bottle when its full and put that fuild in the resivour. then you need to simply pump till you see no air, tighten the valve and pump till you have clutch pressure refill the resivour if ness. 2 days after riding redo this process.

I forgot to add that this happened to me because my slave cylinder was leaking. I can't believe i left that out. I would get a new slave cylinder aswell and do the rest of the process. My old slave had worn rubber and was squirt'n everywhere...

I would just replace the master and slave cylinders. If they're starting to fail, the problem will only get worse.

Devergote,tapanass,eazyduzit509,Slice One,civic_90_08, I would like to thank all of you for your help, you guys are awesome. I replaced my slave cylinder this weekend. It was a total bitch to bleed all the air out and get back pressure but she is staying up now. Thanks so much!!!
