ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Another compression question

I was looking at the white project build, that seems like alot of money spent. Are high flow injectors and a higher volume oil pump nessesary for running 12-12.5:1 compression. That is what I was thinking of building roughly the same compression, but with only stg 2 cam, and I cant afford that beautiful header though I wish I could. Would it probably be better for me to go with 10.5:1 and mill the head a little, seeing as how this is my first engine build (on a honda and for performance) I have rebuilt toyota motors before, but never upped their performance. Any suggestions on if extra Oil press, fuel inj, are totally nessesary.

If Cisco did it in his build, I would say it is necessary. When increasing the performance of an engine, especially by increasing compression, you do not want to risk underfueling.

Plan carefully. Don't touch that motor until you know what's going to happen with it.

Even if I go with 10.5:1 injectors should still be done? Do you know what size would be good to use? Does anyone know about if an upgraded oil pump is nessesary, or can I shim the pressure release spring (on toyota there is a big spring with a check ball that determines max pressure depending on spring strength) to make it run higher pressure.

You have stock F22 injectors? I would upgrade them if you plan on pushing over 180whp or revving over 7k. They'll be close to maxed out at that point.

On the high volume oil pump, you don't need to buy a new one. You can rebuild your stock one for cheap and mod it yourself. Do some reading on modifying oil pumps for more flow. Or you could send it to us and we can do it for a price as well.

Deev, why do you say that if Cisco did it in his build, everyone should do it(that is pretty much what you're implying)? His build isn't done and nothing impressive has come from his build, yet. Why would you follow something that isn't proven? I mean, I have less compression, stock cams and much more power than he put out. It's not fully tuned yet, I know, but still.

Also, his build isn't all that extreme either. In today's engine building world, his build is considered a very mild NA build. 12.5:1 isn't much.

I found a speed part shop near me, and talked to one of the guys there. He seems to think that 12:1 is a bit high, told me that 10.5 should be good enough. Something about needing a bigger cam to bleed off some cylinder pressure with 12:1 or higher. But I dont know.. Still learning and planning. One good thing is that he can help me round up some of the parts I cant find on bisimoto.
