ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Bad cylinder no copression at all....

I'm picking up the wagon today they say I got a bad cylinder. I believe they said cylinder 3 I'll find out for sure once I get it. They said no compression at all in that cylinder. Is this a easy fix or do I need another motor? The say I'm better off getting another motor. What do you think, any idea's???

they are prolly right. you should pick up another motor so you dont have to go through paying out the ass to fix the old block.

there pretty much right your either gonna need a new head or block depending on why theres no compression, could be pricey or it could just be one or two bent valves! only way to find out is to take the head off and see whats wrong!

perform a leakdown test to find the part causing the lack of compression.

as above, could be something small. better to check then to just toss the engine.

I'm at the shop no where I did my swap in my LX to get that leakdown test down he is thinking the same thing. I'm praying its something simple not thrilled about buying another motor right now. If I have thinking bout another H22 that will give me a auto and 5 speed H, but we will see.

replacing the head (with a good, used unit) will almost surely be cheaper than rebuilding the one you've got. (Cause if you're gonna rebuild it you may as well redo the valve guides too (unless they're magically in perfect condition) and that adds a lot of expense.)

Check and make sure you dont have a burnt valve first. If its just that then replace it and call it a day until the next problem occurs.

a1/a4/a6 will all fit. the a6 has a slightly different cam that's good for a little HP boost. (2-3hp with no other mods done to engine)

Your best bet is to get the machine shop to replace the valve and resurface the head if thats what it is.

it was cheaper for me to get a used head that get it worked. i would go pull a used one look at the valves make sure they all look good and give that puppy a good cleaning i used oven cleaner the crap just fell off it looked new
