ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    F22B engine

Okay, so I've been reading different threads about the F22B and how the head doesn't flow so great and the Vtec isn't all that if you put it on a F22A1. What about the whole engine?? I found one at a Pull-a-Part and they said $100, but I wanted to make sure it was worth it. Whatcha think?

F22B is relatively similar to H23A1.

I believe you are talking about the F22B1.

I'll pass on the question to other people since I have no experience on this.

btw , what engine you already have on?

    1993 Honda Accord LX 2004-2009
    1996 Honda Civic LX 2009-2012
    2012 Kia Optima LX 2012-2013
    2010 Honda Accord EX-L V6 2013-2018
    2007 Honda Fit Sport 2017-2017

it is a pain to put in a cb and get right from what i have heard... but 100 bux isn't bad at all for it but from a preformance stand point it is a downgrade to the engine you have. you should spend the 100 bux on a a6 cam and h23 intake then you will be close to the same power as the b1

H23 intake manifold? Or just the intake? Any clue on where I could find these parts, since we don't have a For Sale section on this forum?

What's the difference between an H23 intake and the F22 intake? How does it even make the car perform better?

            (sorry im a noob... )

The F22B1 head flows like shit. End of story. You can slap it on ANY block, and the head will still flow like shit. Put Mike Tyson's head on Einstein's body, and he's still going to be dumb as a brick.
The F22B1 block isn't that much different from the F22A as far as the internals go. It'd be more reliable than a headswap onto an F22A block, but you'd still be stuck with a crap motor (reliable, but crap performance-wise) that makes 10hp more than the F22A6.

We do have a for sale section on this forum. You just can't see it yet.

The H23 intake manifold and throttle body are larger. They have a dual runner setup (IAB) that is similar to the F22A6, which makes it a fairly significant upgrade to the F22A1.

When are you doing this swap because I'd love to hear what you have to say about it afterwards. I'm not sure how long this engine will be there, I don't think anybody else knows about it. Maybe you can give a pro/con list too and info on the swap.

im doing it right now, started in early april. couldnt work on it alot though because i had school (highschool) and some family emergency came up so i decided to hold it off. So far though its been a pain labor wise. there are 2 threads in the swap section concerning the f22b1 and 2 swaps that would help also. my motor is the f22b from japan.

The F22B1 (and any SOHC VTEC equivalent from Japan) flows significantly worse than the F22A. That is a fact. "it's not that bad" is your opinion. If you don't need a replacement motor, this swap is NOT an upgrade.

the only f22b worth anything is the f22b dohc non vtec id use the f22b1 or b2 as a toilet. f22b dohc ftw!!!!!! well in that series.
