ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Automatic Revving in Park.

When i start up my cb (in park), it hits 2K rpms for a while then goes down to 1K then goes up to 3K and goes back and forth between 1K and 3K like i keeping hitting the gas and then letting off, at no point does this stop, only when i turn it off. any idea what the problem is? if you have any guesses or something that'd be great. i have a parts cb that i can switch parts around with to look for the problem.

ok just fixing the same issues my self. check your ecu codes. it may end up being you TPS. not a hard fix but sadly enough you cant buy just TPS from auto parts store or even the dealership. i found one made by omni-power on of all places EBAY i know but hey 50 bucks beats 500

I tend to see the fast idle valve causing that problem in most Hondas. I'm sure it's been covered many many times so do a search if you don't know how to adjust it/tighten the white ring.

Also cleaning the iacv might help as already mentioned. Some other causes would be vacuum leaks or air in the cooling system.

I swapped out the temperature sensor, i was told by someone that this part could make the problem happen. i haven't been able to try starting the car up. I'm still looking for any more suggestions. thanks.

i let it run with the radiator cap off and there's a lot of oxygen in the system. i let it sit and idle for a good ten minutes and it's still there. I'm gonna run it in a few days with the cap off so it can push all of the oxygen out.

If the engine is cold and the outside temp is cool as well, it'll take longer than 10 minutes for the thermostat to fully open. You'll know when it opens as you'll see a lot more turbulence in the rad/coolant.

Take it one step at a time and DON'T throw random parts at it or start touching/adjusting everything as it can make the situation worse.

that wont let the air out of your cooling system... there's a bleeder valve you have to crack open (12mm) do that while the car is off... then add coolant/water until it comes out the bleeder wait till you have a good solid stream flowing out, then tighten the bleeder up. next finish topping off your radiator and then put your cap on! Now your ready to go!

Check for vacuum leaks. Fast idle might need to be tightened down. Throttle cable might be stuck open a bit to keep the idle up.
