ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    transmission help

current owner of a 93 ex coupe, f22a6, 5-speed. sometimes she doesn't always go into 1st unless i somewhat force it, and she grinds bad in 3rd and 5th all the time. looking to replace the tranny altogether. do i necessarily have to replace it with the H2U5 that it has in it for the ex, or is it that big of a deal to throw in an MPT3 out of an lx? how far off would the revs be? is there a noticeable performance difference? the acceleration going to be near the same? the fuel economy going to stay the same? and if i were to rebuild either of them, how difficult would it be to do myself? are rebuild kits available? and i am an auto technician, so i do have the knowledge, tools, and location to do the work. thanks for the input.

all 90-97 tranny interchangeable. i am currently running a 94+ accord motor w/ my stock f22a6 tranny. my third gear used to grind a little at high rpm, threw some Pennzoil synchromesh and cleared that up, not sure how bad you're grinding. manual tranny swaps are easy, they are light, i just get underneath my engine bay when all the bolts are off and bench press it to get it off and same to put it back in.

if it is 1,3,5 id check linkage because it seems kinda wierd that it only happens to the odd number gears.

i agree all the trannys from 90-97 are interchangable as well as prelude trannys but if your 3rd and 5th are grinding those are the first sign of sincronizers going out and you mize well go ahead and do the tranny as well as the clutch....

the first thing i did when i bought it in september of '07 was put a clutch in it, so it's still in fantastic shape.

anybody know the performance characteristics of the tranny from an lx? how different will it be from the tranny from my ex?

that thread will give you the gear ratios.

but according to that, 3rd, 4th and 5th gear are different between the two while 1st, second and final are the same.
