ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    bad compressor?

ok when i baught my cb the dude i baught it from told me he bypassed the ac compressor. the compressor works "sopositly" but it squeeks and i think i know what hes talkin about because the way that its bypassed it still spins the compressor pully and when i take off (low rpms) at times i here this realllyyyy annoying "squeeeeeeeekkkk" then it stops... that squeeking in the compressor, what can that be???

p.s i dont want to spray wit with that spray thing cause i herds that eats up the rubber on the belt.

When i bypassed my compressor with the belt from autozone it made the compressor pulley spin so thats normal, although the squeaking you hear isnt from the compressor, it could be the belt going from the alternator and the pulley is too tight or loose or the bearings in the alternator going bad, but if it was the alternator bearings i dont think it would be charging

trust me me it has nothing to do with the ac compressor, get your alternator belt inspected

Alternator belt = AC belt. Just check the tension of the belt; you should have about a 1/2 inch of deflection.

I bet it's the alt belt. Mine does the same thing every once in a while. Remember serpentine belts need to be tight. To loose and it will squeal like a bitch.

i didnt know we had serpentine belts in the accord lol!
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

It's not really a serpentine belt sys. but the actual belt is. To loose and all serpintines will squeal.

you may also have a bad ac compressor bearing that is squeeking too. Without hearing the sound, its hard to know what kind of squeeling it is.

Try to spray the belt anyway, and see if it goes away. If it does, replace the belt. It's 10 dollar peice of mind. Even if its not cracking, it can still be worn out. If you tighten a worn out belt to the point where it doesn't squeel, you may cause extra stress on it and it may fail on you out of the blue.

That would be the best bet.

Just turn your ac on... and se if it works.

If you turn it on, and look at the ac compressor, and the pully turns but not the compressor, you may just be out of of refrigerant. If your out of refrigerant, you have a leak somewhere.

Just turn it on and try it out... Whats the worst thats going to happen? break a belt thats already squeeling, or break an ac compressor thats already broken?

Hell, it may even blow cold ac

Bad battery connections will do it because the alt is working harder than it should. Starting the car with a lot of accessories on fan/headlights/stereo will do it too. Tension & belt age. A quick thing is to rub a little bar soap on the belt. With the car NOT RUNNING PLEASE. Total coverage is not required, just on the exposed places when you do it should be enough.

My experience with Goodyear Gatorbacks is that they all squeal like banshees.
