ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    E-brake light issue

I expierenced this problem yesterday and have no idea how it could've appeared.

My e-brake light stays on after I put it down and even while I'm driving. Has anyone ever had this problem? Here is what it looks like.

    E-brake down

    brake light on

Not hard to picture the problem, but I always think pictures help better

that could mean that your low on brake fluid.when i was leaking brake fluid a while back it would do that.then when i would fill it ,the light would go away.

Yea sensor or fluid..but have you noticed when you brake the pedal going even more down than usual?..cuz if it was low on fluid i think you would notice...just because the pedal is gonna feel diff.

Really, i think it might be either one.

            Sensor:
I knocked on my cluster a couple times and the light actually went off. But then when I braked, it went back on while I was driving.

            Fluid:
My brake pedal does feel a bit deep but at the same time, my brakes have been squeaking and my dad and I had just changed the brake pads a month ago

If it was the sensor problem, how would I approach it?

when you changed the brakes did you bleed them correctly? if you did just check the fluid. i had the same issue. i had no brake fluid. once i put some it still was on. i just open the cap where i poured the brake fluid and just pumped the brakes until the light turned off. it was pumped about 50 times.

Sounds like fluid to me. When your hitting the dash, its probably making the sensor in the brake fluid rattle around or something.

Pop your hood and look in the right rear corner. You should see a cylinder with a gray cap on it. If you look at the side, you should see dark fluid in it. It should be between the "min" and "max" lines. If you cant tell, pop the cap off and see if there is fluid in there. If there isnt any, or very little, add some DOT 3 Brake fluid and put the cap back on.

Also if you used cheap semi-metallic brake pads, they will squeak.

check the sensor and the wires on the master cylinder fluid cup and also check the switch under the e-brake handle make sure the switch is not stuck

From what everyone's been inputting, I'll check the brake fluid today to see if there's enough or even any at all.

I'll also check the e-brake switch under the ebrake? I'm not sure where it's located and how to access it.

To get to the ebrake switch, you have to take the center console off. Then look on the drivers side of the ebrake for kinda a white thing. when it touches the body the light is off, but when you pull the ebrake and the ground is released, the light turns on.
