ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Is It An Axle Problem?

so i got a brand new driver side axle, rotors, pads, calipers put in today, but as im drivin through out the day...

when i start off in first gear and i floor it i can hear a squeek coming from the front somewhere

as i drove it more thoughtout the day i started to get more and more of that squeek noise when accelaring at first gear and then switching to second gear as well as a accelarate the car quick for the quick second...

so i feel that something is getting loose or coming out of place, could that be the axle?

Does it get louder, and then go away? Does it only happen when you are driving, or does it also happen when you rev the engine when you are stopped?

In both cases, its the belts. Either the alternator/ac, or the PS belt. either will squeak it eh belt is not tentioned right. I actually am not entirely sure how to fix this myself... its either tighten or loosen the belts, but I'm not sure. (I have a similar problem) either way, I hope that this at least sheds a little light on your problem.

And as far as I know... axles don't squeak so much, unless there is something SERIOUSLY wrong. and you would know that its that immediatly. (loss of power, ect...) unless I'm wrong... which there is a good chance of

Brand new? Most likely a remanuafactured axle if it came from a parts store. Sometimes they're not perfect. I have 2 friends that had vibration issues with Advance Auto axles.

I never heard of a squeak, though. Are you sure the ring on the inner shaft clicked into place properly?

Do you have a place to work on your car? If so, I'd take things apart yourself and put it back together. I've had enough trouble with "professionals" in the past. Now, if I can do it myself, I do. Or I have friends help me do it, and I make sure I understand what's happening so I can be sure it's done right.
