ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

p12 ecu from prelude increase performance?

i have an offer on a p12 ecu from a 92 prelude and the guy claims that when put into an accord it will
    -Increase Horsepower
    -increase MPG
-You can go past 120MPH no fuel cut off!

is all this true??? if so is there a thread on installing new ecu's?

if your car is an EX then it's useless. DX/LX then yes it will.

On a LX/DX it will slightly increase performance. Not sure about mpg though.
But it will definitely not go past 120, that ECU has a top speed governor.
The PT6 ecu on an EX in the other hand doesn't.

I'm running on a P12 ecu by the way.
Accord 93 LX: H23 intake mani, Ebay short ram, P12 ecu, Full exhaust. Lots of noise... and that's about it, just noise. LOL
Mazdapeed MX-5 04: Begi Intake, Forge BOV, Ebay FMIC. Whoooooooosh... Phhhff!

              $45 tops.

PT6 is the stock F22A6 ECU, and is really only good for the F22A6.

The P12 is special because the F22A1 in the Prelude is identical to the F22A1 in the Accord. The intake and exhaust systems may be slightly different, but the majoity of the 10hp gain is in the ECU programming.
It's a more aggressive tune, so chances are, your MPG could actually decrease.

And who cares about the 120mph governor? If you go that fast in a 20 year old car, you're a complete moron.

Well, is it worth $100? Hell no it isn't. That's way too much. I payed $50, and even that was too much.

It doesn't really matter that the P12 has a top speed governor, because really... you will rarely go that fast.
The reason why the P12 is a good bolt on mod for our CB7 LX/DX is as said before. Same engine in the Prelude as our cars, but with a bit more of an aggressive tune.
The PT6 would is a nice mod, but before installing that ECU you'd also need to change the camshaft(to that of an EX), Intake manifold(EX or Prelude h23 IM), and less restrictive headers to get the most out of it because that is what is different from the EX version to a LX/DX. A bit of a hassle to do.
That's why the P12 is popular, its way freaking easy modification on the LX/DXs.

it comes from A prelude S F22A1 engine it has 135 Hp.....our Accords with the F22a1 only has 125 the 10 hp is the difference people are talking about though i'm still yet to see dyno results...but its a good performance upgrade plug and play no mods easy to install....the Pt6 thats useless unless you got a F22A6 what engine do you have on your LX?
