ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    serious problem with my motor

ok basicly its like nothing ive ever dealt with and im lost on this one

ok i just got this 92 accord lx it has 140k and a stock motor. after i got it it drove perfectly fine for 3 weeks and then it started wanting to die when i would press on the brake(car in neutral), sometimes it would die completely and other times it would cut down to like 200 rpm and jump back to normal. then it started wanting to die if i took a sharp turn as well as when braking, then it started just idling really rough off the start. and now it wont start at all it never had the check engine light come on, checked and its getting spark, and itsgetting fuel to the rail.
has anyone else had any problems like this? i know it could be just about any of the sensors, or a vaccuum leak please.. any advice would help me

i'd check to make sure the battery cables are on securely first. that can cause all sorts of ridiculous problems. other than that i'd guess vacuum leak, which you'd have to test for yourself. =\. perhaps you could try adjusting the throttle cable as well (to the right if that's what it is, altho i doubt it). weird problems like that are usually a battery cable or a vacuum leak, altho that doesn't explain the not starting really... i'd suppose someone else here knows more than i do tho.

He said the light never came on. Make sure the light comes on when you start the car, so you know the bulb isn't burned out!

This problem could be due to broken grounds, or loose/dirty battery connections. Check all those things first, as they're free fixes if they are indeed the problem. I've had my car cut out while driving due to loose battery cables in the past.

It could also be the igniter or ignition coil, or less likely, the distributor itself.

Finally, the main relay could also be going out, and shutting down your fuel pump.

Check/replace those things in that order and see if any of it fixes the problem.

I had similar symptoms on my car. The underlying cause was a battery that was no longer holding charge.

If not the battery, I would check the IACV. Idle drops when there is a load on the engine? That's what the IACV is there for.

the idle drop and dying when the car isnt moving sounds like the idle air control valve (iacv). and my accord acts like its gonna die when i push in the brake but when i let off its fine. my brakes and my clutch had virtually no petal the next day the went 2 the floor. could b the master cylinder going? not an expert but when i changed mine it all quit.

i would start with a fuel filter it could be intermitantly clogging up due to built up debree. if its not it at least its not expensive

Maybe a vacuum leak @ or in the power booster.

Had this happen to me 2 days ago... i had to pull off into a field and fix the negative cable.

                            Battery cables imo.
