Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

f23 vtec swap in cb7 help

My buddy has a 93 accord and im doing a vtec swap out of a 98 ex/f23a b/c he spun a bearing in the old enigne. We used the 94-02 drive side mount and the tranny is the old 90-93 with its mount. Its was hard to get in and i had to cut the driver side mount to get it in but its still not right. The engine is up about a 1 1/2 on the driver side. What mount do i need to get it in there right. I also tried the 90-93 block mount and it will not bolt up.

    Here is a pic.

    Thanks...

looks like you might have to go to the yard and look at the various OEM mounts from a CD accord (should be close to a prelude if not identical) and at the 6th gen accord. Also look at the BB6 preludes. Best I can do .

Use the f22ax motor mount only 2 of the 3 bolts line up.

F22ax = f22a1 f22a4 and f22a6. Basicly its like saying "B18" we all know its a b18 but is it jdm ? Vtec ? Non vtec ? Ect. IE " Man I need a h22ax valve cover" "Oh man my buddy has one from a type s, so you know it will fit. Yours cracked cause of the 40 psi that T88 Turbo pushed right? " " Nah, it split open when it took a big hit of rock cocaine" "must of been some really great crack" "Yeah, richard pryor would have shitted himself over it"
            eh kinda

Lol. I tried to use his stock block mount off of his old f22 and it would not blot up. On the f23a where the block mount blots to the block one of the hole steps in about a inch. Ive not done f series alot so what year does the f22a1,4,6 come out of.

Thanks alot bro for all your help.

This was already cleared up. F22A"x" was simply used to specify the F22A motor, with the x taking the place of the 1, 4, or 6 that follows all USDM F22A motors.

Basically, he's saying to use the stock mounts.

yea you can use a mount from the cb7 driver side... you have to unbolt the bracket from the block... right under the cam gear two of the bolts line up and it should be fine... i helped a buddie of mine do a f23 vtec swap his was out of a 96 and thats what we did... used stock 93 mount used f22 harness and just pretended it was a h22 swap couple of wires where switched around but you will figure it out

Please, Leave me some feeedback on my ride ^CLICK ^CLICK ^CLICK

                        1. ALL F23s are VTEC.

                        2. The F23 didn't come in any 96 models. If you did a swap from a 96 VTEC Accord, it was an F22B1.

I got it guys. See my buddy took the mount off and unbolted the second peace and did not tell me about it or that there was a second peace to the mount so i bolted the second peace on and it bolted up perfect just one bolt could not work but it still has 3 bolts. It will be just fine.

When i get it done ill post up picks for your guys.

                          Thanks again.

Yea, the F23 uses the same drivers mount as the F20B DOHC VTEC
You would just need to take to bracket off of the original motor and put it on the new one.
I've heard of people grinding away at the bracket and using a washer to make the last bolt hold it down.

f23 vtec swap in cb7 se

im having issues with the f23 vtec swap, swapped the motors in july ran for alittle while then just quit running. ive checked for fuel pressure, changed all relays, changed the coil and distributors, checked the vtec controller wiring connections, changed out ecu's and still nothing. the car is getting spark but not turning over. the battery is new, starter and alt are good... pretty stumped. all info reguarding this swap would be helpful
