ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!
Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956
Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Correct. There is no F20B DOHC non-VTEC. If someone is trying to sell that to you, I've got a really nice bridge that would look great with your name on it as well!
If you want cheap, reliable, and upgradable, just go with an H22. They're fairly inexpensive now, and parts are common. When you buy some Japanese engine that we didn't have in the US, there's a chance of a part breaking that you won't easily be able to find. MOST parts are interchangeable with US parts, but I'm sure there are some weird ones.

Thanks blizzard. Deevergote (Correct. There is no F20B DOHC non-VTEC. If someone is trying to sell that to you, I've got a really nice bridge that would look great with your name on it as well!)
You said theres no f20b non vtec dohc that is wrong, yes there is . 1000 plus is not cheap for a h22. I really dont want a h22 but if i get the f20b non vtec I could put a vtec head on it right. How hard is it to wire the vtec, and if i put i vtec head on it its basically would be a f20b vtec , the one stock from japan

don't mean to argue but how is the h22 motor junk? i've heard ppl make this claim before but nobody can ever provide evidence for such a laudable claim. so i'm just curious as to why you say the motor's junk?Originally posted by cb715401 View Postwell i am new to accord but someone gave me a spec of the f20 non vtec they said 197hp. if not what does it supposed to have, and no i dont want the h22 in my eyes the motor are junk i dont like those engine at all. In my experience on messing with them the are very tempermental engine.. Every little thing make them throw a fit.. Well anyways im not looking for much just want a car that will run between low 14s to high 14s and be a everyday driver, without turbo

Jdmwannabee, Its just from my experiece working on hondas, doing swaps and people bring there preludes to me to work on. They are very pecky and tempermantal engines. Every little thing makes them run like crap. Maybe its just the engines i came across

A F22B. They must have the description wrong because I have never heard of a F20B DOHC non-VTEC. Either that or someone popped a non-VTEC head on it.Originally posted by cb715401 View PostABSURBNY, Theres no f20b non vtec look at this http://jdmtigerjapanese.com/details.php?id=5577 Whats this then.
Has anyone else ever heard of a F20B DOHC non-VTEC?Last edited by AbsurdNY; 09-18-2009, 05:08 PM.

There is no such thing as a DOHC F20B non-VTEC motor.
cb715401, you seem like you think you know quite a bit.
The H22 is actually a very forgiving motor. It responds very well to mods, and can easily run low 14s with a quality intake, header, exhaust, and cams. I've known H22s to run low 14s with just I/H/E.
Someone who treats their motors like crap, or buys them from a questionable source, will very likely have a poorly running motor. I got my H22 from a reliable source, and I've maintained it. I have had no problems that haven't been due to normal wear items failing.
There are NO non-VTEC Honda 4 cylinder motors that make anywhere near 200hp from the factory. The most powerful non-VTEC motors are the H23 and F22B DOHC, both at 160hp (the H23 has more torque due to the greater displacement.)

Well I to like think i know alittle bit, but when it comes to accords and preludes im in the dark as far as the motors there are. Thats one reason i join this forum. Most of you guys know more then me when it comes to these motors. OK so ii shouldnt get this engine ,ok,
Is the h22 swap pretty much like putting a gsr in a ls integra
If I deside to boost would the f22 be good canidate.
IF I deside to keep the f22 and go na whats the best modes besides the h23 im.
I would like to get around 180 to 200hp and right now i only have about 800 to spend

The F22A can make insane power NA, but you need to put some real money into it. The Bisimoto header alone will give you 27whp on a stock motor (stock intake and exhaust, even).
For $800, if you understand turbo systems, you can build your own setup for that. It won't be great, but it's doable. You're going to need to be able to tune the ECU, or find someone to do it for you, though. The F22A can make 200whp EASILY with even a cheap turbo setup. The compression is low, so it's fairly forgiving.
The H22 is nearly a direct swap into the CB7. You have to run 4 wires and tap one hole in the manual transmission. Otherwise, everything goes right in like stock. There are members here that can do the entire swap in a matter of hours.

You are probably better off selling that turbo you have and then getting a DSM setup. It is the easiest and cheapest way to go turbo on a our motors. .Originally posted by cb715401 View Postdeevergote thanks for the quick reply and great info. Yeah as far as turbo that might be the way im going to go. I have a custom that i put a new stock turbo on his 89 mx6 gt. And he didnt pay for it so its mine.
Has anyone did a hybrid turbo setup from a mx6

How big is the turbo from the MX6? What type is it?
The manifold on the 4G63 (DSM... Eclipse, Talon, Laser) matches the F22A exhaust ports, so all you need to do is drill new holes to mount it. It's a very common thing to do when boosting on a budget. It will fit the stock Mitsubishi 14b (which works, but is small for the F22A), as well as the 16G and "big" 16G from the Evo3 (that's the one you want.)
