ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

i was putting in my new suspension in my 93 accord and i went and got the ds front strut out and when i got it out the cv axle joint came apart inside the boot and now it wont bend back in far enough to put it all back together. How can i realign it?

You may have to take the boot off. If you do, you'll have to get a new clamp kit for it. Or you may be able to move it around enough to get the joint to line back up

You are talking about the inner plunge joint right? it has three square slides that slide in a track sort of. if you pull it out to far it will come out of the track and it will go right back in unless you have got one of the square slides twisted. If you can feel it through the boot you might be able to feel the track and the square pieces and make them line up and put them back in. If you do have to take it apart clean the boot and joint first dirt is bad in there. i just reused the boot and zip tied where the clamp used to be. is hasnt come off yet and its been a year or so now.

When mine separate and I can't get them back together, I just replace them.

I had an axle come apart like what you are saying, we took the boot off, got it back together, added more grease, put new clamps on it, figured everything was good, not so much. I ended up replacing the axle

I had both of mine come apart when I did my clutch. I lightly tapped one back in. The other one... I destroyed it. Whacked it on the ground until it was all messed up. Never got it back in. So I exchanged it as a core on a new Autozone reman. I haven't gotten the car on the road yet to see if the one that went back together is still ok.

If you pull the joint completely apart and don't mark which bearing set goes inside which channel then when you put it back together again it won't work so well.

make sure to mark the bearing three tripots before pulling them out of the outer race (if you do end up doing to to realign them and get them back in) so you can put the tripot assembly back in the same grooves they came out of.

Also if you are gonna pull them fully out you need to wrap around them with masking tape or something so the roller bearings don't fall off the threetripot "axles".
