someone help, ignition issues

okay so today went to fill my tires and tank up at shell and i park throw the e-brake on and i go to turn my car off and my key just comes out, the car stayed on but the key was out? i quickly put it back in and tried to turn it off but its like jammed or something itll let me turn it to the right but stuck in the left posiiton i drove it home and sat there for like 20 minutes trying to get it out and finally did, seemed like it was jammed? any ideas?

Its probably the ingnition harness that is opposite the barrel that the key goes into. you have to take off the cover that surrounds the key/turnsignals and unscrew the round switch. It is a complete harness that must be replaced and you can actually get them at most auto parts stores. Its a plastic switch that over time gets worn out pull it off and look at it you may be able to just clean the contact and be good to go but i had to replace it on my car years ago.

ya thats what it seems to be because it looks dirty in there and my dad " throw some wd-40 on that" aha but when i bought the car i always had to put the key like not all the way in but abouty 70% in to turn it over i hope this is it thankyou though i will try this today
