ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Check Engine Light Driving Me Crazy

Check engine light problem...I replaced my oxygen sensor, and checked my vacuum lines, plugged in air box reader thingy, and i still am getting the c.e.l.i disconneted the battery and reconnected it to reset it but a few miles later it popped back on.it turns on only after i drive it for few miles.whataya tink??i'm lost... i took it to autozone for them to pull the codes but the dipshit didnt want to mess with a 90(that bastard)...and i have to go thru emmisions next month so i just kniow it's gonna fail with that light on..PLZHLP A pissed CB7ener

Just take it to another parts store to read it. Just remember they usually will NOT clear it but if they do, when ever they scan it (if they scan it, they will/should if the light is on) for emissions they will see the cleared code so remember that.

Don't change parts unless you got the code.
Don't go through the hassle of people pulling the codes for you.

auto parts stores only read cars with 96 up it wasn't his fault, which would be obd2, our cars are obd1, so you should learn to read and search and diagnose your own damn cel light.

anyone who doesnt have 2mins to pull codes using nothing but a paper clip probably shouldnt be working on their car to begin with.

think i might start selling my junkyard sourced "code reader" to the noobs.
at the rate i am seeing "how do i pull codes" threads i could make a mint....

So i did the clip thing in the tester thing LOL and the c.e.l. did one long blink and two short blinks which according to the post that konigstiger pointed outthanks btw, indicates an egr issue where and what is the egr. emmions related im guessing.

Yes you do. The egr is the exhaust gas recurlation sys. It basically takes exhaust gases and runs them back into the engine. It is located on the lft side of the intake close to the valve cover. It disc shaped and roughly 3 inches tall. Also has a vac line running into and if I'm not mistaken wires as well. Could be clogged to where it won't open or just a bad vavle, or something else.
