ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.
2 of 2 < >

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

wow i have never seen anything like that. It looks like when the axle broke because its still attached to a spinning wheel it hit the side of the trans hard enough to break it. Keep the CB you can find a trans for not to much money. Try www.car-part.com they have everything

A friend of mine pulled the same thing but he was abusing the hell out of his coupe; snapped the axle and replaced it the next day.

Were you gunning it or did you softly catch the gear?
                  IF, implies a possibility.

yeah man get another trans, they're VERY common. You could do H23, F22, H22 there's so many out there. I found my JDM M2A4 for 100 bucks locally in Casa Grande, AZ. And its got ZERO problems w/ it, no grinds nada. So just do a quick craigslist search and I'm sure you'll find one.

Hell, there's a guy locally selling a USDM H22 trans on CL for 350 w/ the clutch flywheel and pressure plate.

how many miles were on that tranny.

my brothers wagon's 5sp housing got a crack in it and started spitting oil on the clutch.

and this 4 door lx at my house has the same hole as yours almost

both cars had over 250k miles

He's fed up. Some people fail to think objectively when they are frustrated. It is unfortunate. Let's just hope he doesn't regret the move too much while he reflects on these times at some point in the future. And we all do tend to take for granted the ease of automotive repair when we've got experience under our belt. We shouldn't forget how impossible some of this stuff looked the first time.
